Hello friends x

I'm currently rewriting my Module A essay on RIII/LFR on intertextual connections.
Can anyone who has studied this module tell me Pacino's purpose for representing the humanity of Richard and why he chose to do this.

Peace

For an AOS essay, is it ok to write 2 paragraphs on PT and 1 on your RT if you run out of time?

Hey! This is definitely okay, the ideal split is 50/50 or perhaps 60/40 but this is definitely okay - Make sure your RT paragraph is strong! ;D

I was wondering if someone could give me feedback on this sentence in regards to whether or not I successfully identified a valid attitude and perspective.
In ‘The book thief’ Zusak’s disapproving and critical attitude towards use of the fear as a means of control by the government underpins the Author’s perspective that while humanity has the capability to perform the greatest good people are often thwarted by the fear of punishment

I'd say you've got them both, at least how I'd define them you do ;D

Welcome to the forums! ;D hopefully someone who has studied these texts can lend a hand, in the meantime just wanted to link you to a few free sets of notes on the texts, they might be helpful (and perhaps help with answering your question) ;D

I would say that its because of his American, 90s context. In order for his audience to understand and appreciate Shakespeare (which is the supposed purpose of the adaptation), they must be able to empathise with the protagonist. Thus, Pacino makes Richard a multi-dimensional character.

How does Yeats's use of language, content and construction contribute to the textual integrity of this work?

^I'm confused because I don't know that much language, content or construction techniques that he uses haha...

Language, content, or construction techniques aren't anything fancy - it's about the language, the content, and then the techniques. So with content - you talk about subject matter. What is he discussing in his poems? Usually, tension. Tension between young and old, moving and stable, inspiring and dull, peace and war, etc. Then in the language and construction techniques, it becomes really specific. So I might talk about the way Yeats poetically treats the tension between vitality and his own looming old age, he uses the motif of water throughout The Wild Swans at Coole to represent the vitality and vibrancy of the world around him - drawing a comparison to himself. Obviously this analysis compounds with other pieces of textual evidence, but together, you create a portrait of how Yeats' textual integrity is built through his writing :)

In terms of oral presentations, what are some crucial factors to take into account towards achieving the best mark possible?

Also, how should you start the speech, I find this the most challenging part

Remember that while you want your presentation to be succint and cohesive, it doesn't have to be as formal as an essay. Part of an oral presentation is engaging with your audience, so adding techniques like rhetorical questions and emphasis through repetition (but not too much) will sustain the audiences attention and keep them interested in the opinion/information you are presenting.
Confidence is also a major component in oral presentations, so remember that practice will keep the nerves down, and thus make your audience sense that you have prepared and are confident in the material you are presenting.

As for starting oral presentations, most people find this challenging. One option is to give a quote that directly relates to your opinion throughout the presentation to immediately grab interest, but again, whatever you feel comfortable with.
GOOD LUCK!! ;)

These two texts could be easily compared through themes, such as the formation of pre-conceived prejudices/bias, the indoctrination of youth, the internal/external conflict that arises with prejudice and how the individual chooses to repond etc. I expect you would have an essay in your yearly that you have to compare these two texts, so themes that are threaded throughout both texts will be important in your comparison.
There are heaps of resources for TKAMB, but not so many for RB, so make sure you have themes evident in both of them, with at least one quote + techniques for each theme per text. For example:
Theme: Internal/External conflicts from prejudice
TKAMB - Quote
               Technique
               Analysis
               Link to RB
RB - Quote
        Technique
        Analysis
        Link to RB
Make sure you have this for a few themes, and remember that not all themes may suit the question asked.
Come up with a few questions/ask your teacher for them/get past papers, and write a full essay, or make plans using these two texts. Past papers are always a brilliant way to study :) Good luck!

Yes that would definitely make your thesis stronger, but be mindful of the detail you go into, as you will probably have limited time :)

For creatives if we have 1-2 major discoveries e.g. physical and emotional, what if they ask for landscape or cultural for example? How would we adapt?
