I hate to break it to you, but to the best of my knowledge, there is only one real way to study effectively for Paper 2.
Mirror the paper. This means observing factors such as keeping to only 40 minutes (of which 5 of them should be planning), not seeing the question before hand, giving yourself a few minutes reading time etc.
Then what you can do is get one of your teachers to mark it (or even better, one of the AN enthusiasts too

. Try to ask if they can give you a mark/band/grade you are sitting at, as well as providing constant constructive feedback.
MAKE SURE TO DO THE MODULE YOU ARE LEAST CONFIDENT WITH THE MOST. IT WILL NOT GO AWAY OR GET ANY EASIER IF YOU DO NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT AND YOU WILL NOT GET BETTER MARKS!!!!
(Sorry for caps, I just get really
antsy passionate about this. No head in the sand with English. Do not just revise the stuff you are good at because that module or modules will still screw you over.
Having said that, make sure to do essays with and without notes, and you dont always have to stop at 40 mins, just see how long the essay you are doing goes for.
While I am not a fan of memorising essays (you have to remember a creative and an aos essay as well as 5 prescribed texts and 2 related texts, why put more pressure on yourself?) this may be a go to option just for a single module that you are not confident in. For me this was module a. King Richard III and Looking For Richard screws me over, still does. Luckily, I was good at Mod B and Mod C. So i devoted most of my time towards improving Richard but didnt memorise an essay on the day.
Managed to pull a 14/20 on the day even though I talked about power and not the authoritative aspect of the texts. This may not seem a good mark but considering I got 9/20 in my last Mod A essay before trials I was perfectly fine with this. My Mod B was a B and My Mod C was an A but due to only studying for module A my mod C dropped from an 18/20 (speech) to a 13/20 (essay). But ill get off my soap box now.
Hope all this info helps and i havent just rambled on to exercise my fingers
