Thank you so much for your reply and I'm sorry I replied so late.

I think I was talking about how Richard establishes that he is doing things for his own ambition. And by accepting that he is like the vice and the villain, he shapes his own identity as an anti-hero, recognising his own power and agency. Maybe I'm totally off the mark haha

Also, I read your post on memorising essays and was wondering how to write a generic essay for module C. I do people and politics :)

Hey, I'd hate to be a bother especially since you guys are so busy, but I don't think anyone has answered my question. I hope I haven't missed the answer!

Sorry justwannawish! I'm annoyed with myself that we are missing stuff! :P

I'll let Elyse hopefully notice this message and chime back in with her train of thought, I didn't study Richard III, and for the Module C generic essay, I think understanding the requirements is important!! Check out this guide on Module C essays :) besides this, use broad wording that lets you hone your examples in to specific terms in the question!

Yes! However I asked my friend the same question but he said it was a metonym. What is the difference?

I think metonym is close to the same except it doesn't necessarily need to be part of the whole, it is just one thing representative of something else :)

Hi, i was wondering if you can explained to me what this question is asking me to do:
'Evaluate how your understanding of people and politics has been enhanced by the prescribed text and on another text of your choosing'. I'm kinda stuck at the enhanced bit. Please help!

my understanding is you discuss the view represented by the composer in your prescribed and related text - e.g politics/politicians are corrupt, their control over society - and how this is effectively portrayed and enhances your understanding. For example in my related text The Tin Pot Foreign General I would talk about satire and how they overexaggerated the political leaders size and features to show they are powerful and corrupt etc
I'm sure one of the ATARNotes legends will give you a better explanation but I hope this helps a bit! Good luck :)

Hi!
I attended the AtarNotes English lecture in the holidays (hosted by the incredible Emily!) and on one of her lecture slides she had a table breaking down the Mod C rubric into key words/ phrases, and then listed next to them was a relevant quote with techniques and a sentence of analysis. I've found this a very reassuring way to study for Mod C, but I was wondering if that table could also apply to Mods A and B, as well as the AOS? And if so, what key words would I be looking for to expand upon?

I was wondering if you could please check if my intro is ok! This is for module C (people and politics) and my texts are Brave New World and I met the Walrus  :)

The question is: Representation of people and politics inevitably involve the representation of important values.

Through presenting confronting political models regarding the human experience, a composer is influential in providing provocative yet anthropological truths relevant to society. In representing political issues through a variety of mediums, a composer's habitual expression and language provide a perspective on important humanistic values, often shaped by their personal context.  In the form of a dystopian novel, Huxley’s ‘Brave New World’ is representative of his fears for the over-bureaucratisation of society and the misuse of technology leading to the dehumanisation of man, reflected through his fascination for satire and characterizations representative of various aspects of political hierarchies. Josh Raskin too adopts a satirical style in his short animatic film ‘I met the Walrus’,coupling voiceover from the Beatles musician John Lennon with hyperbolic pen sketches, indicative of his progressive point of view while also representing Lennon’s political perspective across a visual medium, illustrating the extent of his concerns regarding power and conformity. While both composers present thought-provoking ideologies in disparate forms, their common motivations are clear in advocating for political transparency, urging against political indifference through social rebellion.

For MOD B, how shown i structure a mod b essay - text 1 - text 2-text 1 -text 2, or text 1 and text 2 in the same paragraph and then repast in the next with contrasting ideas

A caesura is used (the dash)- emphasises a contemplation in thought, or analepsis (repetition of a word or phrase for emphasis)

Hey! ;D a similar table for the other areas would be a fantastic idea in my opinion - What words you focus on would probably come down to you, because everyone would have different ways of interpreting and understanding the rubric. To give you some ideas, check out our guides to Module A and Module B, as well as our breakdown of the AoS rubric (focused on creative but broadly useful) :)

Hello,
What is the best way to study for the upcoming trials (esp. for mod A), from what I've seen the questions asked each year are quite different. Is it possible to go in with a prepared essay since i'm not a strong writer, i won't being able to grab good marks if I just go in with quotes and expand based on the question.

I would do whatever you feel most confident with first, and then the rest after that! Then you have a positive mindset going into the rest after you have completed a big chunk well, and youre head will be clearer to think of some ideas for the harder ones :)
