Transferring to law/comm at Monash?

I graduated in 2015, and I achieved an ATAR above 98, which was what I needed for law/comm at Monash. However, I never anticipated to achieve above that, thus the whole year, my aim was to get into commerce at Melbourne Uni, but I also just had the option of laww/comm just in case I'd get an ATAR above... I chose to put commerce at Melbourne Uni as my first preference, law/comm as my second because I wasn't 100% sure if I'd want to do law, and that if I could do comm at Melb, I could do law post-grad which is technically about a year extra or less. However, now that I've read more forums about how difficult the LSAT can get, and the limited places due to mature-age students, I've had second thoughts about commerce at Melbourne Uni. I'm also more oriented towards humanities & English, I'm okay at math but I have to work extra hard in it. Now I'm worried I won't enjoy my course (even though classes haven't started yet) and I know now it is too late to change preferences even though uni fees technically haven't been paid yet...

Has anyone ever transferred from commerce at Melbourne Uni to law/comm at Monash? I read online that you can't transfer for the second semester but only for first? So hypothetically if I absolutely hated just doing commerce at Melbourne Uni and I wanted to transfer, if I was successful (grades etc), would I be able to get some credit from some of the commerce I  did but would have to be a first year as a law student? Also what would the requirements be and how difficult would it be? Would they still take my ATAR into consideration?

Late reply, but -

Generally I don't think they'll let you transfer into the course after one semester and they may not have any mid-year spots regardless, but it's worth emailing the law faculty to check. Their address can probably be found through this page somewhere: https://www.monash.edu/law/future-students/undergraduate/pathways

If you transfer into law/comm you'll probably get credit for any commerce units you've done at UMelb, except for business law (as business law isn't a unit in the comm/law double-degree). The requirement to apply is I believe an average mark (WAM) of above 70, but it usually takes a ~75+ average to get in (some years it is more like ~80, it varies year on year). After one year of full-time study your ATAR is no longer considered relevant (they just use WAM), so unfortunately they won't really be looking at it in that scenario.

Hope this helps a bit & good luck  :)

To transfer into law at monash you need at least one year of full time study. 70+ is the minimum but for a decent chance you want >75, for a guaranteed place >85.
