In order to write a strong introduction you have to state your contention in only one sentence. For instance for "i" your contention can be " In the play No Sugar, although poverty may influence some characters' motives however Jack Davis shows us that for most characters, the need to overcome adversity and insecurities inspires them to take action"
So in this sentence I have talked about how the prompt is true some times for some characters and how overcoming adversity and insecurities are the motives for characters actions. Hence there will be 3 arguments. (My contention can be too long it is rather like a whole paragraph)
This can be one way of arguing. The format that I have used is No, Yes, No. Meaning that I have one argument which agrees with the prompt and 2 that doesn't. You could also use Yes, No, Yes format but always make sure to use either of those.
My advice is first highlight the key words of the prompt.
Then rewrite the prompt in your own words.
Choose No, Yes, No or Yes, No,Yes format.
Write 3 arguments based on the format with 3 evidences each.
Introduce the prompt in your own words and then agree or disagree.
Afterwards introduce the 3 arguments with no mentioning of evidence.
** this is the way that I write my intro. I might be wrong.
