My fellow Monashians, here’s what we’re going to do:
Step 1: Submit work to
The Undergraduate Awards (UA) for
no costStep 2: Wait
Step 3: Potentially get published in a prestigious journal and win a free trip to Ireland
It’s that simple! And we might even beat the University of Melbourne in the process.
You may have seen my post on UA
here. But I figure that this is a great opportunity to represent Monash University and show pride in our wonderful institution. Last year, Monash hosted
14 Highly Commended entrants, but to my knowledge we have
never hosted a winner. And that needs to change!
What is The Undergraduate Awards?- The world’s largest academic awards programme
- Aims to celebrate high-achieving undergraduate students
-
A wonderful opportunity for all of usHow does it work?- You submit coursework (either from this semester
or from previous years)
- You can edit that coursework with your relevant lecturer/tutor
- There are
25 categories to which you can submit
Why should you bother submitting?- The
recognition: publication in
The Undergraduate Journal, great for employment or further study opportunities
- The
network: Highly Commended entrants and Overall Winners become part of the UA Alumni Network
- The
Summit: a four-day event held in
Dublin, Ireland. By initiation only (to Winners and the Highly Commended). This is
all expenses paid for Overall Winners
- To top it off, certificates and gold medals are also distributed
- And it’s
absolutely free and
entirely easy!
I really can’t emphasise strongly enough how great an opportunity this is, and I really, really recommend anybody from Monash to send off some work (which, I will point out again, you have probably
already done). You can register
here (if you want to submit work but don’t want to do it right now). You can submit work
here. You can see eligibility and the submission guidelines
here.
Why not
share this opportunity with your Monash peers? Let’s do this. Let’s represent Monash. Let’s get a Monash student to Ireland in 2016.
