yoooooooooooo i love this book with a passion - i didn't use it all the time but it was there when I needed it.
I self taught myself most of the course from the essential textbook (not sure how the cambridge textbook is) - but some parts in essentials was really ambigious, unclear or just flat out wtf?!?!? *not sure how to put that into a word but the complementary usage of ?!?! accurately displays my reaction to some parts of the textbook"
I only used the d.ha book and the textbook and I turned out just fine - but I also had to ask plenty of questions to my teachers/peers/ex-students so it's not the omniscient book of methods. But it does have the bulk of things summarised concisely and I really appreciated my friend for giving it to me.
But also take into consideration - it's half way through the year (and i think even more than that in terms of course work.) Derrick Ha was really effective for me at the start of the course, and at the end when recalling some of the small details i may have forgotten.
Could you give us more on why you want to buy the book? What is it in methods that you're struggling with (and the whole thing is not an appropriate answer, although at times it may be true for all of us)
Coz a book might not solve your problems but something else might you know?
*end ramble*
