As of now and prior to the syllabus changes for 2019, science is not science in NSW. It's more like social context of science.

As in, how to actually construct the table like that?

It will depend a little on the version of Word that you have, but have you consulted something like this?

If you mean specifically some cells being larger than others, you can merge cells after making the table. I tend to highlight the cells I want to merge, right click, and then click 'Merge cells'. It might also be under something like 'Cell formatting'.

You could also draw a table with: x number of rows and y number of columns and then use the eraser tool to erase any unneeded divisions between cells.

Hey guys was wondering how outliers work in HSC

With our trial marks being handed back to us and the overall ranks and marks set, there are large discrepancies in marks between ranks overall e.g first is at 94 whilst 3rd is in low 80s

Thanks

Hey Deng! Speaking generally, there are algorithms in place to prevent massive outliers from impacting on the results of their peers, but usually this only prevents negative effects. A very strong student will pull their cohort up (the details of which you can read here) ;D

That article might address your question generally about how everything works and how outliers may affect things, but after reading it be sure to let me know if there are any specific kinds of scenarios you want to ask about!! ;D it can get complex, so just let me know where you want me to hone in :)

That is not a good idea. You need sleep.
