Ok gotta get ready for Elyse's commemorative 1000th post soon. Time to keep track

Can't be like Jamon and just rush off to 2000 :P.........but then again maybe 2500...

Jake and Elyse should both get to 1000 pretty soon! You'll be at 2000 soon too, do me a favour and slow down when you get really close ;) other notable milestones incoming are Sarah and Skidous, both close to 200, and hopefully 250 soon to come! ;D

SOOOOOOOOO

I've heard that at some schools maybe in this year, maybe in others... that some people deliberately skip out on their exams because they are in a good rank within their school. And they do this because they will get a predicted HSC mark which will be based off their good internal rank?

WHERE IS THE FAIRNESS IN THAT?????!

If they skip the external exam and get a 0, then the highest they can get is a 50. Because the internal and external components are each weighted 50% on the final report.

But apparently they get a predicted HSC mark based off their school rank and how well their cohort does in the HSC?

That's if they have a medical certificate. And if they get a prediction the rest of the cohort isn't impacted by their absence.

It won't effect the cohort, and you need a very, very solid reason for not turning up. The sniffles won't do it; a doctor's certificate saying that you could not have sat the exam is what they require. Don't worry about other people's marks anyway; just focus on you!

Hey tahmina! I haven't heard of that specific textbook, however those three options are extremely common so its very likely that any SOR textbook would cover those three. But if you're worried you could always contact the publisher and ask  :) :)

So since we should be memorising out syllabus and knowing it all very well, i was wondering for PDHPE and business studies do we also need to memorise the students learn to section or just the students learn about?

Generally, when it comes to the syllabus (noting I didn't do PDHPE OR Business), you don't really need to focus on the 'students learn to' section. Have a glance over it, just so you're familiar, but don't worry about it too much!

I don't do PDHPE either, but I find that the "learn to" section is a good checklist for yourself. Because they put the verb in that side of the syllabus, so it's good to ask yourself if you can actually complete the verb requested, with the section of the syllabus specified.

I do business studies, and have found that for memorising teh syllabus, just go with the 'students learn about' dot points, and then just know how to apply them in relation to the 'students learn to' if you get what I mean!
All the best with your revision before next friday's exam!!
(Sorry just experimenting with all the cool effects ;D)

As far as I know, a T-VET course works exactly the same as any other in terms of how results are moderated and calculated (though I am happy to be corrected) ;D

I'm not entirely sure whether this is related but for VET Hospitality, the HSC Mark is comprised of 100% Exam mark (no school assessments including Trials count towards the HSC Mark). This is different to normal subjects that are 50/50. But your school still submits a kind of assessment mark so that if for some reason you couldn't do the HSC exam, then BOSTES could use that mark to place you in the cohort.

Different subjects might work differently though, I actually have no idea!
