so preferences are due tomorrow, and i've filed a SEAS application - and it keeps asking for evidence to be photocopied/uploaded, but the only thing that potentially might need evidence would be my parents receiving centrelink benefits, which i've given the CRN for the centrelink thingo [dont know it wel..xD] and given permission for VTAC to confirm it through centrelink etc.
anything else i may potentially need? :O

If your parents are the ones receiving the benefits, you can't give the CRN. You have to actually submit a centrelink letter because they can't confirm it otherwise; something about how you need to be the one receiving the benefit for them to be able to confirm it through centrelink. The SEAS deadline is coming up too so you may want to get on that ASAP.

Have you submitted a scholarship application? + Have you checked if you're eligible for any of the other SEAS categories?

If you personally receive benefits, you should have a separate CRN and centrelink account. In that case, you would enter your own CRN into the provided space. I know when I was receiving Youth Allowance back in Year 12, I had to enter in my CRN and that was it for SEAS financial disadvantage category. I'd double check this to make sure though.

Some info from VTAC which could help you: http://www.vtac.edu.au/who/seas/categories/category3.html

Do you have to submit  an impact statement and  statement of support when applying for scholarships through VTAC.

Thanks  :)

When do we know if our SEAS application is successful?

As far as i'm aware you don't get notified - it gets submitted as part of the course application and the universities consider your eligibility. Meaning it'll all be taken into account and depending on that you will or won't get an offer.

I'd assume you'd know if your scholarship application is successful when you get a scholarship?

Access Monash:

Quote
Applications will be assesed in full after 30 October 2016. If you are successful in moving on to the next stage of the selection process you will be notified via email by 11 November 2016.

Selection interviews will be held from 15 - 25 November 2016.

If you are a new applicant you must be available for an interview during this period.

This thread will now be locked as an alternative thread has been created for the purposes of Post-ATAR course related queries. This thread will remain available to read as it does contain answers to some pretty important information. Please find the new thread here, where you will be able to ask your questions:

Post-ATAR Course Question Thread

If you wish to post a new thread (for whatever reason), you may still do so by visiting: VTAC Discussion

Thanks.
