As the heading says, I was wondering if integration by parts (e.g. (u*v)' = u*v' + u'*v and then integrating this expression) is still in the 3/4 Spec course as i came across it in a resource of mine but i haven't covered it in class nor it was in the Cambridge 2016 Textbook.
Thanks
Integration by parts isn't on the specialist course nor has it been for the past 20years (if not more). In both methods and spec their are 'hence" integration questions which requires you to find a derivative and then differentiate something like xln(x). Which is kinda guided integration by parts but as a whole it's not on the course. Also why it would be a fair enough extension on the spec course, but if you use it in your working you won't get any methods marks. Especially when it's a Hence questions.
As far as I know it's taught in first year uni.
