Can I Use This Pen In The Exam?

Hey everyone,

So I was wondering, instead of the standard black or blue pen, could you use the Pilot Friction Ball Fine Erasable Gel Blue Pen? This is so, unlike other pens and like pencils, if you make a mistake, you can still erase the answer, although the pen's ink gives the appearance that the exam taker has just been using a normal pen.
Can they confiscate this pen during the exam? Are we allowed to use it?

I have attached a picture of the pen as well.

Thanks guys! :)

Surely there can't be anything wrong with using a specific type of pen pen, but from skeptics I hear for those ones there may be a risk of ink falling off the paper during transport.

You can, but I wouldn't as I'm paranoid any friction occurring while shipping your paper might cause your writing to disappear.

I use these! Two warnings:

- They do rub off, I mean obviously, I've never had it rub off a notebook before, but loose sheets of paper I've seen a word or two rubbed away
- They fade with heat, though again I've never seen this happen under normal working conditions

I don't see why you couldn't use them, and I think you'd probably be okay in terms of legibility, I wonder how well they scan into a computer? ;D

Most of the advice is to discourage students from using erasable pens: the way in which exams are scanned and transferred, you run the risk of it not being read clearly or part of your answer being wiped.

While they seem like a good idea, allowing you to erase and answer and fix it up, it's better to just put a line through it and correct it. :)
