Thanks for the love, and also congratulations to other recipients. As far as I am aware, the 2008 VN Dux, polky, has also received this prize. The other dux, synsthetic, probably would also have received this prize.

Well I got it and you've got the same English mark as me. From what I've seen, the Australian Student Prize appears to be calculated neither on aggregates nor ENTER. My friend who got 99.95 didn't get one. No, he was not an international student or anything like that either, but what he did notice was that he largely relied on scaling to get it. Consequently, it seems that it's calculated on RAW study scores from what I've witnessed as my other friend who got 99.80 didn't get one, but her ENTER was largely carried by a 50 in Chinese. So basically, I had a 41 and 43 raw sitting down there dragging me down and instead, you've got a 43 and 44, so you should be in the clearing to get one. Enjoy your $2k, I sure did =D

Neh, double post because I feel like it.

The other thing to note which might have a deciding factor is that on the letter I received, it mentioned something about teachers nominating students for the award. Totally forgot about this in my last post but this is what I reckon was what decided who got it. The girl who I said got 99.80 was a bit of a slacker in year 12 so I suspect she never got nominated by teachers. The 99.95 friend I mentioned was from a non-selective state school, so I don't think they even bothered submitting nominations in as no one in that school got them as far as I know. Lucky for you ILMM, McRob has received plenty last year, and with your academic record, I'm pretty sure your teachers were well aware of you and I'm sure they would've nominated you.

lolz our school only selects the 99.95's and don't even care about the rest.

It's calculated on raw scores you say....hmm.....so there's a slight (less than 1%) chance of me getting it? Awesome =) *goes off to continue dreaming*

I'm not sure. This is all purely from observations. I think the thing about nominating is more likely to be the deciding factor though.

HANG ON A  MINUTE
does that mean someone who got like
30 in english, and then 50s on 4 subjects.
(so very, very high if english is not included)
could get the award since english would be a sixth subject?!?!?!
