I actually found most of it ok! I cross linked my essay concepts as well. And the creative stimulus was great for my memorised piece!

PAPER ONE EXAM DISCUSSION!

I felt as if it was a fair test (but maybe because that's subjective). Essay question was general enough, although could prove troublesome for some core texts (and phew about no two relateds haha), creative stimulus was hard, but if there was time it should have been semi-adaptable for most people. Comprehension was the hardest part, and was a little rude not to give a visual text, but overall the texts weren't overly difficult to understand and had clear techniques.
Fair is subjective but if you reckon it was then good on you; that's a good sign. Seems like you knew what you were doing

Don't know about if it's rude; this was a year that they threw you three unseen texts and not four. But I'd imagine it to be annoying as.

Yeah, difficulty wise I'm still in favour of essay being the easiest. But it wasn't the most fun of them I'd say; I'm not a fan of specific rubric points being targeted
Well since my original essay was about "comprehensive and transformative" discoveries, i substituted key words with "intellectual and emotional" every here and there haha i hope it was enough
Lol! So long as it was convincing it'll be fine

They gave us four HAHA! They just cruelly manipulated the last question into a 6-marker as we needed to synthesise other texts. Bloody annoying comprehension section  >:(

Luckily the creative and the essay were pretty mouldable, not ready for paper 2 :'(

subjects:
- advanced english
- mathematics
- mathematics ext 1

Excellent; sounds like you had it going great

Oh crap I was meant to say four and not five :P

Yeah generally when there's 4 and not 5 the last question goes into being a 6 marker. They are technically allowed to do that but between the few options they had, combined with the 2-3-4 it was more evil than last year. And probably lots of years

Have faith; you can do it. Good luck tomorrow :)

Ok, here we go!!

Short answers: where is the image?!?!?! And why only 4 questions that makes it harder  :'( but I reckon i might have done okay in these.

Creative: My memorised essay was basically smack bang in the middle of image 4 and 5. Had to change the whole end of my story to fit the stimulus though!!

Essay: don't even go there. How I was supposed to relate a few poems to emotional and intellectual experiences is beyond me. AND i didnt even finish this section because i spent so long on the others!!

Hi guys.
With the boy in the museum, I remember saying something about how the skyscraper was contrasted with him and it intimidated him. I used personification cause it said something about the skyscrape pushing him down? but yeah I wrote that was how contrast was used. And I wrote something about how in his idea (second last paragraph), he felt clearer after rising to the surface from the water because in the water he felt like he couldn't breathe. I basically talked about the contrast with him being in the water vs being outside.

I really was nervous and could not think straight so these might not make much sense but does anyone think it looks okay and makes sense?
Can't stop thinking about it  :-\

Do you think that your poems didn't even touch on emotional and discovery because they were consistently showing other parts of discovery? Or do you think it was there, just quite weak?

Excellent work talking about the contrast between being in the water and being in the air/land. I suggested the same thing!

Give it an hour or two, have some lunch, and then put discovery to bed and get ready for round two!

Just taken a look at the exam, those are some bloody long unseen texts. Anyone feel the same way?

YES, i didnt get to finish the 4th text in the 10min, probably cause i got lost when a whale was being compared to a boat...

i thought the questions were quite specific, like use "contrast" use "imagery" LET ME BE AN INDIVIDUAL ahaha.

Creative was stressful, but the discovery question could have been worse. it took me longer to phrase it into my essay.

Hey elyse,

Yeah there was only one poem which effectively showed what the question was asking.. One poem there was a weak connection.. The rest had all these other great discoveries, but were completely irrelevant to the question.

I used the Creative Stimulus as a metaphor throughout. Rather than it be the actual context where things happen, the changes that occurred to my character were then represented in the character of the stimulus (I used the ice, stars, etc. one). Is any of this an issue?

That sounds awesome! You can definitely have multiple interpretations of the image, so don't worry if people disagree about whether there was/wasn't ice, that's seriously not important!

That's what you're supposed to do if you ask me. I definitely did not write about a balloon lifting up a wall

Well if you saw it wrong that's kinda a different story. Hopefully the markers see where you're coming from anyway
