Looked without seeing looks a bit like an idiom. But many quotes carry multiple techniques on them.

i said it was a paradox whoops

Text One:
Colloquial language -> sense of intimacy w/ his surroundings and pleasure assocaited with emotional sense of belonging

Text Two:
Contrast between the small boy and big whale -> discovery provokes a sense of curiosity and he draws in his sketch pad
Contrast between his perception of the whale and fathers boat -> provokes renewed perception as he sees life in a "pattern" now

Text Three:
Alliteration of 'cool celestial' provides his view of the night sky
List of the stars (forgot them) allows audience to witness his discoveries
Metaphor of  braille of the skies allows us to sese his constant appreciation of the night sky and wonder as he looks into it

[Question] Four:
Simile - of 'like litter' provokes an audience to gain insight on persona's view of the environment around her
Disconnected sentence structure of "They were...  made of something" - conveys the persona's inability to comprehend what is around her
Personification of the "fire" being "alive" allows us to see the signifiance of her apprecation of the environment

I feel like I just bullshitted everything tbh rIP

creative was HORRIBLE for me
i used the location metaphorically so that it fit with my actually location
i said my location felt AS THOUGH i was standing, looking into the horrizon and at the stars, but wasnt actually

That's totally fine! Probably a more creative use of the stimulus than just physically being there and describing the scene :)

I used the creative writing stimulus metaphorically - does that work?

I was so happy to see that the techniques you posted for the short answers were the EXACT same ones I mentioned in my responses! (E.g. Enjambment, ellipsis, imagery, etc.)

As a Standard English student, I found the exam pretty good!

I followed the recommended time for every section.

- Short answers I found were pretty decent (I've never seen a 4 mark short answer question before though xD)
- The creative piece is the only piece of text that I memorised for this whole English course (I improvise my essays), and was super pleased to see that my creative writing fit perfectly with one of the images (The guy sitting alone holding an umbrella with the storm above him)
- The essay question this year was easier to understand than the 2015 essay question (IMO). However, I was super anxious that I might run out of time for this essay because I was hoping to leave more time for this section (I ended up following the 40 minute recommendation), so I left out a quote on my RT, and therefore, had to change my essay structure a little bit :P

Ultimately, I did pretty good :')
