Overall thought the exam was so good! a few challenging questions but very happy with it, i was only confused by what it meant in the sports medicine option question regarding temp regulation like i knew what those were but what did it mean by strategies!??

The strategies were like wearing appropriate clothing , wetsuits, etc.
I personally think that question shouldn't have been worth 12 marks. There wasn't much to talk about

I felt like the exam was really good compared to the last two years which seemed much harder! I did option one and option two and found that the questions weren't very succinct and you couldn't answer with a concise response and had to waffle a bit. I also found that the paper suggests you leave an hour and 10 minutes for the options which was definitely not enough time!!!

Hi, ummm just a question.

Question 14 is asking about athletes addressing dehydration DURING competition. So how would you expect an athlete to measure themselves whilst running a marathon for example? Personally, I believe the answer is A as it is the most effective of keeping hydrated.

Thankyou xxxxx

Thanks for the answers, but Q20 I'm almost certain is not C, fat metabolism is glycogen sparing not protein metabolism - which would be the body eating itself? And also Q14, I'm fairly sure that it's not D as fluid must be replaced by 150% post exercise, and this would not cover the given sentence 'dehydration DURING competing'. I'm under the impression that it's A on that basis, as 250mL per 30min is the recommended replacement of fluid DURING comp.

Q14 has to be D

For all the contention surrounding it, all A, B & C provide an arbitrary amount of fluid to address dehydration. So say the athlete sweat out x litres of fluid, if x is greater than 600mL none would cover it except for answer D which scales with the amount lost in sweat

LOL bro, how do you weigh yourself during competition? You can't, hence it wouldn't be D because you don't know how much weight you have lost....

You don't have to weigh yourself, the question takes that into account by saying for every 100ml + The question doesn't say anything about during competition, just which strategy would best address it

I agree, how can it be D as during competition you are not capable of weighing yourself hahaha.. I said A

I agree that question 14 is D, A is also correct but what if he lost lots of water? Hence D (even though people are talking about how it can't be measured during preformance).
However, can someone explain why question 20 is C and not  A?

It says it in the quote above the actual question about during
