Opinions - starting a degree again

Hi all,

So as the title says, I was wondering what your opinions are on starting a degree again if you have almost finished it (ie. second year of a 3 year degree). Do you think it is better to start again and graduate with much better grades or graduate faster with a low average (pass/credit)?

Thanks :)

You're still going to have to justify how and why you got advanced standing (credits) for the new degree when you go for a job (if they ask that is - because what you claim will show on your transcript). My own view on starting again is that after the first year it's too late because you're essentially just wasting time. I think that if you're changing purely due to your grades, you aren't doing it for the right reasons.

Are you going to be transferring into the same degree at a different uni? If this is the case, what's to say that you won't just repeat what has already happened? If you are getting low grades at one uni, how is moving going to be any different? I know this sounds a bit mean but i'm trying to put it into perspective for you. Bachelor degrees teach similar content so *even* if you move unis, you'll still have to complete relatively similar content.

Of course, if you're transferring to another degree (entirely new discipline) because you hate what you're doing.. then I don't blame you at all.

tl;dr
- After 1st year, wasted too much time unless you hate what you're doing
- Similar content taught in undergrad so if you move to another uni, expect the same/very similar content.
- Move for the right reasons.
