Nice find. Wow.

Yep that's what I and some others thought in the exam, although some people assumed they were just giving an example to set up the cell notation and put B. Either way the question is worded quite badly and not really explicit enough.

I'd have to agree with your answer, though, and join in with the thousands of students who got that wrong in cheering fuck you BOSTES

Thought 11 was A  :-\ my teacher said the special number 1 was allocated to the halogen which comes first in the alphabet

RIP industrial that endothermic equation I wrote increase in temperature increases K value but it was meant to be decrease

Hopefully, that should be fine! You probably did some incorrect rounding at some points, but markers often avoid penalising based on that. There is always some leeway (2%, hopefully!) so I really wouldn't stress; you clearly got the bulk of the question right!

A is definitely correct in terms of alphabetical order, but you also have to remember that when you add up all the numbers, you want your name to equal the lowest value. Both A and D are correct, but D adds up to a lower number, so is the answer

It says this particular cell and refers to the Q and R but in the question it says which of the following cells. The words "following cells" separate the original cell from the cells in the answers. I think Q and R are just there to establish the notation

Jake for shipwrecks I wrote out both the chloride and water equation and explain it relative to the concentration which was unknown..

whoops didn't pick one, does that matter?

Definitely doesn't matter; it just means you're absolutely going to get full marks for that question!

Hey, im pre sure 11 is A, because the lower sum of numbers goes to the one that comes first in alphabetical order

I do not believe that this is a rule.

(Exception: Sum of locants is the same)

Examples can be seen on page 304 of the Jacaranda textbook, with 2-bromo-1,3-dichloro.
