I took a slightly differing view on the question, but it was essentially the same idea. My first s/w was about how parliament allows for an arena of debate and scutinisation of legislation, with my weakness being rubber stamp. My second s/w was about the fact that they can delegate legislative authority to subordinate authorities, thus allowing them to make always on issues of federal interest, with the weakness being that the subordinate authorities may not be elected and thus represenattive of the views/values of the people.

That seems like a solid answer :) I'm glad someone else took an evaluation-based approach!

i talked about the legislative role performed by the parliament (the role of the upper house, lower house and gov. general) but im probably wrong lol

Same broke it down into

Upper house = states house, introduces law - non monetary, represents the views of states due to 12 members of each state
Lower house = Introduces law can introduce monetary, represent views of majority(people) and has to maintain support of parliament
also Both houses role in the law making process is too make sure the other house does not allow in radical legislation through however
this can breed a hostile UH

Lastly mentioned how parliament delegate law making powers to subordinate authorities such as CASA which increases productiveness as
parliament only sit 70 days/year

The task word was "discuss", but a fair few people interpreted it as more of an 'explain' based question than evaluate - arguably because of the wording and the number of allocated marks.

How many marks was it again? Wasn't it 5/6

Discuss is essentially the same as evaluate though, the difference being you don't give a conclusion on it.

Assuming you answered the question then of course, due to this question likely being not globally marked
if you have 4 points and a concl generally you'll get the marks

Why do you say that? With such an assertion, you might need some arguments to back yourself up haha

Legal is a great subject as far as acting as a basic introduction to the law and the legal system. It's the nature of the law itself that's curly, not the subject.
