:D Really??

Yep :P I used to do grades (quit grade 4 about 8 years ago - yep ageessss ago). I'm not going to take formal lessons or anything though; recently been trying to learn to read again ( taking it easy  ;) ). I played clarinet in the school band throughout high school though, so reading treble clef is okay, but the bass clef just confuses me for some random reason! :P

Lol dude. I also quit piano around Year 4. Except I quit grade 5 :P but I only "passed" grade 4. I was terrible - couldn't even get a credit.

Yeah on my first lesson back my teacher made me do some sightreading. I handled grades 1 and 2 easily but then grade 3 was a struggle. Although since I hadn't touched anything I struggled with both the treble AND bass clefs that day :P

You get used to it though. I don't know how you went about your treble clef but what I did was hard to describe. I just somehow learnt that this note goes here, that note goes there (e.g. in treble, the G is on the second line or sitting at the very top).

But yeah don't do lessons. Especially if you don't want to. I finished off 7th grade just a month ago and am pretty happy (going for 8th grade now) but lessons can kill off the desire to come back. Play it (hahaha get it) out the way you want to :)
