After a massive overhaul of our software, we are extremely excited to be back on the market and offering affordably-priced and high-quality UMAT preparation to aspiring med students so they can say "Hello Uni"!

Introducing http://www.HelloUni.com.au (formerly Section Zero)!

Promo video:

What's new?
- A very pretty graphics redesign
- State-of-the-art software
- Most importantly, a sophisticated ranking algorithm that was previously only available to university academics with complex software.

What's the same?
- The high-quality content (1000+ practice questions, detailed solutions to all questions, video solutions, theory guides and lecture videos!)
- Our commitment to affordable pricing, just $89 for a full subscription that lasts until the end of UMAT 2017!

All of the other UMAT companies are guilty of having amateur-hour approaches to predicting percentiles!
Are you concerned about getting skewed percentiles from other prep courses? You should be! It is almost certainly the case that every prep company is just lumping in your data willy-nilly with every response they've ever received and applying a very sloppy standard normal distribution to the results. Their samples of data are so polluted that it is almost impossible to get anything close to resembling useful feedback from their percentiles. And worse than that, their methods of handling this data is amateur to the point of sheer inaccuracy. And they charge you a massive $4-500 (minimum, depending on the provider) for the privilege of receiving this misinformation!

We're here to let you know:

The real ranking algorithms used by ACER utilise far more complicated methods of statistical analysis than these companies seem to be remotely aware of. The ACER algorithms:

- Compare the data between your answer set and the answer sets of other students
- Compare the data between every other student's answer set and everybody else's answer sets
- Adjust that data to reflect a ranking of skill between each question and student
- Iterate this process millions of times in order to converge on a statistically relevant ranking of student aptitudes

We are bringing that level of sophistication to our ranking predictions. Our software engineers are geniuses who graduated with top marks from Aerospace Engineering and Science degrees and have an incredible cache of statistics knowledge. They have used this expertise to craft our own algorithms to mimic what we believe are the real ones used by ACER.

Furthemore, there is a significant amount of variance in UMAT results. People will have off days, some years there will be more questions from areas where you are stronger, and in others there will be more questions in areas where you are weaker. That is the nature of the beast. It is simply irresponsible to give you a number and say "this is what you're going to get". That's an impossible prediction to make and is functionally useless. We map your results to a probability distribution, showing how likely you are to score in which percentiles.

We spit that graph out after every drill or exam you complete to show you how you are tracking. Our ranking predictions are absolutely state-of-the-art and we can't wait for you to try them. Now you can study for the UMAT with clearer data than ever before and have a much more accurate perception of what percentile you are likely to score, before you even come close to sitting the real thing!

Please visit http://www.hellouni.com.au/NEWYEAR10 before January 16, 2017 to receive a further $10 off your order and start your 2017 with a great decision to buy the most high-quality, affordable UMAT prep on the market. You can trial a free sample test before you buy and see the power of the software for yourself!

Please note that while Section Zero used to be an ATAR Notes offering, ATAR Notes is no longer affiliated with HelloUni, so please direct any questions/feedback towards [email protected] or post in this thread.

Best wishes for your success in 2017,
Nat, Daniel and Campbell on behalf of the HelloUni team

Hi VCEBookworm!

We only just re-launched, so I don't think too many people browsing AN will be able to give you a review until they've used the product. We could make up some fake testimonials, but we're not into that. :D

Instead, I'll link you to a bunch of past reviews about Section Zero. Our content is the same as what Section Zero's was, it's just that our software is infinitely more powerful and user-friendly now.

My UMAT Advice
Re: Would you recommend MedEntry or Section Zero?

Re: Would you recommend MedEntry or Section Zero?

The big difference between us and the competition is that we think their price-gouging is absolutely sickening. We are enormously proud to charge just $89 for very much the same materials that every other provider offers for $4-500 minimum. And instead of upselling you to an overpriced workshop, we just condensed all of the theory into 2 hours worth of videos (that's seriously about as much theory content as there really is in the UMAT). Instead of making you waste two whole days stuck in a lecture theatre with hundreds of kids where you won't learn effectively and charge you an extra $2-300 for the privilege, we just include it as part of the package.

All of this makes us feel really good about what we do.

If you look at the prices of every other provider they are all suspiciously similar. They are in silent agreement to try to extract the highest possible margin from a captive audience that is desperate to gain entry into medicine. They know they can get away with it because parents will do anything for their kids, even if it means they have to sacrifice their own quality-of-life for a few weeks/months to pay for expensive UMAT courses.

Best wishes for your studies in 2017, whether it be with us or another provider!
