Days...

Let x be the number of days after september 30th (this is the last day of september)

Say I get x to equal 11.44 and the question asks what DATE is this.

It should be October the 12th right? not October the 11th, since you have passed 11 days and 0.44 of another day means you are already IN the 12th day hence October the 12th.

Is my understanding correct?

I remember having all this confusion last year but can't remember exactly what I stuck with so I'm not going to say if you understanding is correct or not.

However, thinking about it now, when x = 11, it is the 11th day of October (so, 12:00 AM, 11th Oct). When you are at x = 11.44, isn't it 10:33 AM, so, the morning of October 11th?

Not sure if MY understanding is correct - I'm just putting it out there :)

When it says the number of days AFTER sep 30th, does it mean starting from Sep 30th 12 : 00 AM ? [The very start of the sep 30th?]

Ugh that's what I disliked about methods =_=

Now thinking about it again....
So, x is defined as days after Sept 30th.
If x = 0.5, that would be half a day after Sept. 30th. So not a full day has passed. So I think starting from 12AM of Sept 30th is right.

And if you say x=1, it means one day (24hr) has passed after Sept. 30th 12:00AM so that ends up at Oct 1st.
And if you say x=1.44, 1 day and 10hr34min of a day has passed after Sept 30th 12:00AM so that ends up at Oct 1st, 10:34  AM

Yeah, I think it sounds right...
