Hi Joseph,
I think articles on stuff like setting up a study timetable or study pattern would be useful because I have problems while studying like procrastination and articles like that may help me get into the habit of constantly studying and not procrastinating too much which bad especially if you're in yr 12
Something relating to study organisation will be up next week!

How to get a 40+ in English
Hey Sameerafaizy,
The eternal struggle, amirite? We have some
amazing English tutors and past students, so this is definitely in the pipeline!

Is there anything in particular that you'd like, or a general guide?
I'm interested in how to take effective notes and advice tailored for specific subjects. E.g] I'm particularly interested in Physics, Economics and Legal regarding those matters.
Another idea is for how to manage external factors in life that can affect your VCE, such as sleeping habits, social life, setting goals, being in a personal relationship throughout the year and working jobs.
I'm really excited to see something like this come into play though!
Welcome aboard, Raihnn!
Great suggestions. For clarity, do you mean taking notes
in class, or taking notes outside of class as revision/study?

And yeah, those external factors are so important - and it's all about finding a sustainable balance. We'll work on this, too.

I'm stoked you're excited about the initiative! Please let us know if there's anything we can do to make your VCE journey a little easier.

(Have you checked out the forums? Heaps of resources!)
How about how to get a 99+ ATAR with the especially with the subjects of EAL, Specialist Maths, Math Methods, Chemistry and Biology . Plus how to rank no. 1 at all times
Would be REALLY appreciated!!
Hey, halfbloodprince (nice reference haha)!
We've just published an article on how to achieve a 99+ ATAR
here.

It's not tailored to those particular subjects, but the tips will definitely apply. Until then, I absolutely recommend checking out the sub-forums for each of those subjects, which can found at the following links:

1) How to write up an Analytical Commentary (in terms of the structure) for English Language. For instance, the basic TEEEL structure can be applied to section C; however, what structure works best for section B? If there could be like a sentence-by-sentence layout of an AC structure for both the 'metalanguage subsystem' body paragraph method and the 'themes/concepts' body paragraph method, that would be soooooooo helpful
2) Another one for English Language (which can be attached to the quotes forum): could there be a list of all the themes that fall under each Area of Study so that we can search for specific quotes - As a result, we can collate more quotes under more specific sub-branches for each AoS, because at the moment, I (and I assume others) feel that their quotes may not be entirely relevant. I guess these sub headings could be derived from the study design or commonly tested prompts...
Thanks in advance
Ooh YES I love EngLang requests haha.

Good call with the analytical commentary template; I think that would help a lot of people. Out of interest, have you been taught to write an introduction for analytical commentaries, mtDNA?
And yeah, I can try to put something up on the themes of each AOS in this thread:
English Language 2017+: A Collation of Quotes and Language ExamplesThanks for the post!

Also for the CASIO Classpad please! It was my undoing for the Methods 1/2 exam last year and I got a horrible score because I didn't know how to work it (they don't teach us in class)
Please and thank you!

Is there like, legit rivalry between the CASIO Classpad and the Ti-nspire? Hahaha. Maybe a general calculator article would be best, which covers both?

That sucks about the 1/2 score, though, and I feel your pain. It's great that you're looking to improve that for 3/4.

Hey, I want to become a pharmacist and to get into the course at Monash, I need an ATAR of 95 and over. I did Unit 3/4 Chemistry and Biology in Year 11 and totally blew it. I am doing English, Methods and Health and Human Development and Cert 3 In Christian Studies and I want to score over 45+ for all the subjects. May I please have some tips on how to achieve that goal? Also I want to be able to manage my class and home time better, any tips?
Thanks
Ansu
Hey, Ansu! Welcome to the forums.

I have a pretty close friend studying a very similar course (perhaps even the same course, but I do get a trifle confused). Is that the one at the Parkville campus? If so, it sounds awesome.
From what you've posted, I actually think you might benefit from a thread like this, where past VCE students give their general tips and tricks:
'Doing VCE' - the good, the bad, and the future.
In terms of time management, there's a nice piece going up early next week about study organisation; we'll keep you posted!

Hey,
Just wondering whether you guys could give us tips on how to go about answering application questions (like problem solving ones) for methods? Especially since the second exam is going to be basically all application questions?
Thank you
Ooh nice one - so like, the worded questions? I only did Methods 1/2, but we have a number of people who completely
smashed Methods, so we'll try to get something Methodsy out there for you!

Welcome to the forums.

Hey,
How abt topic/area of study specific common mistakes and pitfalls to keep in mind. There was a really good one on Methods. If there were some for other subjects too - that'd be awesome.
Thanks
Hey BlinkieBill,
Firstly,
your Methods post made me ridiculously happy, because it's so good!

Thank you so much for posting that. Actually, this might be really relevant for you, Alessia?

Great idea about the common mistakes! Were you looking for any subjects in particular?

It's great to have you on the forums! In fact, I'm going to thank you in
this gratitude thread for writing that Methods post.
