can anyone tell me what happens when you don't get the enter you need?
because its seems as though an enter below 80 means your life is over.
and is it? if you don't get a good enter does that mean you'll live the rest of your life a failure?
but will it truly make you happy?
is the key to happiness really in how you do in school?
this is what the VCE truly does to people -.- lol

ENTER below 80 = life end (jobwise). No way!

there are still a heap of things that you can do with an ENTER of 70+.

If you are feeling you are going to do bad with VCE just remember there is about 5 weeks left until your exams so you can change a lot (I turned my fear of failing English - i.e. getting less than 25 - into a 30 through just studying it a bit and trying to do some work on it).

... but the number doesn't define you unless you want it to.

This is really true. I do sometimes look at my ENTER and think hmm I could have achieved better and I'm pretty sure a lot of the people on VCE notes do. You are not alone at the moment there are 50,000+ people thinking about ENTER.

Also enjoy high school. It's full of good things. Your biggest regret will be: not getting the most out of high school, instead of not getting the highest mark you can. Most of you will miss it, no matter how much you say you hate it now.

Yep this is also true. With this time coming up you'll be thinking about exams and leaving school. In this time I guess I made the most out of school! I did a speech for valedictory assembly, bought party poppers for after the valedictory assembly. Term 4 is a hard term, but, you can also make part of it a fun term.

You grudgingly accept your 3rd preference because you didn't get into #1 or #2. Then a year later you realise that you really love your 3rd preference, and wouldn't trade it for 1 or 2 for the world.
True story :P

 :)

That happened to my dad's friend's son. He just missed out on med, and accepted medical research instead. He then proceeded to top medical research, was offered a transfer into med, turned it down, and is now doing a PhD with a scholarship.

emm... which uni offers medical research? cos I dont think I will get into Med LOL.

Any mainstream uni will offer medical research.

There is no way I would ever do medicine:

- I am a germaphobe who suffers from emetophobia.

- Seems demanding. 60 hour weeks and in the latest news the QLD government tells doctors to drink 6 coffees a day at minimum (who's the doctor here?)

- I have no passion to become a doctor. The name may sound cool and it would make a new persona of you at dinners, but, really I would not want to become a doctor. Businessman yes, doctor no.

You could always repeat year 12 with a few subjects.

Umm with engineering no they don't. Engineering is no walk in the park and not doing any study will give you heaps of fails! Now which company would hire a person with that work ethic?

Yeah I was kind of regreting not doing VCE biology but then I heard you guys have to grow E. Coli (the bacteria which causes food poisoning!!!), there is no way I would do that prac. I can handle radioactive sources but not food poisoning bacteria.

My 1 and 2 had nothing to do with 3 :P (1 and 2 were med at Monash/UoM, 3 is arts/law)

So OP even if you get into a completely separate discipline from what you originally wanted, it's not the end of the world. It may just be fate nudging you towards the truly right course for you ;)

LOLOLOL :)

Also, your parents will still love you. If in doubt, ring them and say "I just got involved in a car accident".

Possible responses:

(1) ARE YOU ALRIGHT?
(2) IS THE CAR ALRIGHT?
(3) I KNEW IT.
(4) WHY ARE YOU ALIVE?

If (1), your parents love you; (2) they love the car more than you; (3) your parents are psychic; (4) they want you to move out.
