Where did you hear that from? I'm pretty certain it's about 550 who get interviews.

All I know is it's almost a 50% cut off rate from
Each step. From test (1000) about 500 get interview. From interview (500) 220 get in. So almost cuts in half each time.

Nicely done, I think they'
I think JMSS takes about 200~220students, so we stand a great chance, I performed pretty much the same as you, yet my results at school was not that good. I really hope everyone on this forum gets in(including me) because I know how hard you guys have worked for this. Records to the Enrolment Policy, JMSS will release the outcome on the 08/09(18 days left), and I REALLY LOOK FORWARDS TO IT. Because I waonder how many of us actually passed the interview. But I believe everyone that tried their best will pass the interview and earn themsleves a spot at JMSS.

It should be either the 8th or 9th of September because the "Policy Page" says that it's the 8th of September, while the website says the 9th. Oh well. Everyone, just check your email on the 8th and the 9th.

For the science writing were we supposed to draw a diagram or was it up to you. I think i did quite well but didnt draw a diagram

500 is a lot of interviews it would be 300-350 400 at the most. If they took 500 interviews out of 800 what is the point some of them would be below average. Id say less then 400.

After the interview do they look at your test results or is it only for the cut off for interview shortlisted students.

MOD EDIT: triple post merged into single post.

Btw, please try not to double/triple post. Try to keep all your posts in one (use the modify button).

They did interviews for about 6 days, so that's around 80 students everyday (if we use 500). The groups contain 5 people, so that's 16 groups per day, which means that it's feasible to interview 500 people.

After the interview do they look at your test results or is it only for the cut off for interview shortlisted students.

Since you got an interview, it means that you've scored in the top half in comparison to other students. For the interviews, I'm pretty sure they shortlist based on what you say and do (puzzles and individual interview).

Oh.... I thought that they did it more than a week, lol. I didn't expect them to do the interview that quickly. XD

I'm probably going to apply for both, but JMSS is my priority.

Wait so there are ~400 interviews? and ~220 people are offered a place. So a bit more then half the students will be successful in gaining a place. I do methods 1/2 in yr 9 at Box hill high school SEAL do you think the school will look favourable towards it as not many schools if not any school offers it. Thanks

If I don't get into JMSS, I might go for both JMSS and EBSS as well. I don't know yet, but JMSS is also my first priority as it is closer to my house (if there's no traffic jam, it's around a 10 minute drive) than EBSS.

Same. It's also like a 10-15 minute drive from my home.

If you ace the interview and do pretty well in the group activities but cant solve the puzzle is that considered good? Not many people got the maths question
