Math Methods SAC Mark

Hi Everyone,
Our methods class which consists of 5 people just got back out Application Task Sac Marks. Needless to say, I did the worst in the whole class. (I was away on a family emergency overseas for 2 weeks, they did the SAC during then, and I did it after I got back, amongst the other SACs that I had to catch up on). I just feel like this is a setback. I know I have got two more SAC's to go and the end of the year exam. I am pretty sure I am ranked last in the class. Will just this SAC affect the chances of me getting a 40+ study score?

Thanks
Ann

Hi Ann!
The short answer - no.
You still have tonnes of time before the exams arrive and remember that the exams are worth 66% of your overall final grade. If you do well on the exams and on your remaining SAC's, then there is definitely still a strong chance of achieving that 40+ study score.

On a different note, it's good that you're paying attention to your ranking in the class and it does pay a really important factor, but how concerned about it you have to be depends on a lot of other variables. Worst comes to worse - even if you are ranked last in the class - there is in fact, still hope to achieving a study score over 40. A lot of it depends on how you do on the exams, how your cohort does in the exams, and how well your cohort's done throughout the year in general. At the end of the day, hope isn't lost for a 40+ study score. The most crucial thing to do is perform well on the exams and after that, getting as highly ranked in your class as you possibly can (which means doing the best you can on the remaining SAC's).
Also, depending on your circumstances with the emergency you might be eligible for special consideration? Worth checking out if you think it's possible.
Hope this helps!
