Volume question

Hi, I am not sure what ive done wrong but i was thinking part (i) should be (3-x) in the integral not (1-x)?

isn't the height just y=2-cos^2(x)=2-((cos2x+1)/2)?

if you read the question, it says the region bounded by the curve AND the x-axis, which does not refer to the area pointed to by the arrow?

No. Re-read the question carefully.

The area bounded by the x-axis is used to make the mould for the fish pond. The actual fish pond itself is what's being indicated by the arrow.
