Definitely interested in your thoughts about this one. ;D

I used to be PC all the way. I found Macs extreeeeemly confusing and counter-intuitive. Then, in 2015, I needed a new laptop (previous one wouldn't even turn on lol). I spent ages researching, and always ended up coming back to a Mac - if for no other reason than (in my mind (possibly due to gr8 marketing)) a greater chance of not-being-shitness.

It was definitely confusing at first, but - two years later - I'm almost more used to Macs now hahaha.

Anyway - your thoughts? Are you strongly in one camp?

Discuss.

Where's Linux as an option (there are actually Linux boxes etc. available...)? Come on, if you're going to have a proper debate about types here.. include the alternative too!

In terms of the Mac v PC debate. I will always side with a PC. Purely because Macs are overpriced garbage and you can certainly achieve the same with a custom built PC, for less. I have never been fond of Mac OS either.

That's all i'll say without sounding too biased :P

PC ftw.

From singlehandedly (and accidentally) wrecking a Windows 95 (long story*) when I was 6 to today, I still use a PC.

Even though there has been a few dud Windows versions imo  (Win99/ME, Vista, dare-I-say 8 ),  I find that Windows is inherently easier to use (for me anyways- I used a macbook in grade 5 and it was a really bad experience haha) mainly because I grew up with them.

Another reason why I'm the PC camp is that some of the programs I have on my laptop are only available on PC and tbh it'd a pain to try and find an alternative hahah.

*that's for a another day lol

(Yes, my arguments seem a bit weak, but oh well )

Yippee. I highly doubt anyone will actually have a Linux box, but in the event that someone does.. Woohoo!

I have always had the impression that those who have steered towards Macs are the creative/artistic types. In terms of actual development and programming, XCode on a Mac is realllyy, like, really.. handy. I have tried to change my mind given that Macs are present in schools, and at uni.. but I just can't seem to enjoy them in the slightest. My main issue is their pricing... they are way overpriced.

I built my own PC back in late 2014 and it was the best $3,000 I spent (at the time). Although due to technology and its rapid changes, the tech is now out of date. I'd be lucky to sell it off for half price now. But that's the same with anything I guess...

PC. No question

Nah but in all seriousness I've just always been used to a PC. Even at the school library when all the PCs are taken and only Macs are left I still refuse to use a Mac.

Definitely should have made this a poll. Is that a thing that I can do after the fact?

Definitely agree with this. I can't imagine video editing on anything other than an iMac/Macbook Pro. Which is funny because I actually used to use a PC for it - was just so frustrating that I blocked it from my memory haha

I would have chosen Linux but it doesn't support OneNote 2016 (which is awesome for writing notes with a stylus) and a bunch of engineering programs. Big shame :'(

Oh, and I think someone should run sudo apt-get install stickman-clothes. He/she looks quite cold.

We have time. 8)
Well, if you insist...

So, this was a time in grade 1 (so 2005), when we were moving (we've moved a few times- once to the side of town, but let's not speak of such things) and my parents set up the super old computer for my sister (who was 4 at the time) and I. The old computer ran fine for about 3 hours, whilst I wasn't on it, but then I wanted to play on it, so I chose to play the super old minesweeper.

I was entertained for a good hour by that before I got bored... then havoc began. First I somehow turned the tripeaks game into a font file, (don't ask me how that happened- I have no clue) so obviously I screwed that game up. Then I tried to fix that myself by going into some program file thing (I cringe at that now, don't mess with the program files, kids), which stuffed the rest of the games up (I think I deleted the cards dll by that point lol).

Obviously, me being six and all, tried to cover up what I did, so I decided to open up a primative version of paint. Which then froze, so I closed out of it and started looking through the folders. All I remember about what happened next is that I went into the system files (cringe) and may of deleted those system files (more cringe). Obviously the computer ceased to exist after that. 😂

Funnily enough, my parents still ask me to help them with stuff on their computers...

Tl;dr- not the typical 'my computer is screwed story'

Seeing you at work with your latest Macbook Pro and having to use a USB-C to USB 3 adaptor just to plug in your wireless mouse thingie makes me appreciate why I chose a windows laptop. :p
