No, the cemetery thing is actually established fact - you have to hold your breath and squeeze your nose, lest you inhale spirits of the dead.

And these spirits can cause congestion of the lungs if you breathe in too deeply - it's one of the top 15 causes of death in Australia.

"If you make a face and the wind changes you'll be stuck with that face". I remember there was a story about this that used to convince everyone, but in my family we took it one step further, with dad making up this elaborate mechanism about how it actually happens and how he had a couple of people he'd worked with that it happened to. Pretty sure his bullshit was so convincing that he actually believes it's true now HAHA

Nothing beats the ol' spending your young childhood thinking it was illegal to drive with the lights on inside of your car at night :P

Lol fuck this isn't illegal?

This isn't something I believed when I was young, but its something that always deceived me when I was young

Snakes don't have eyelids right? So how does the boa constrictor wink at Harry potter when he is at the zoo in Harry potter and the philosophers stone''

Something that has been ruining my life recently  :-\ :-\ :-\

Also, I swear snakes can't actually talk. ???

I love how the least realistic part of Harry Potter for you seems to be a snake having eyelids hahaha.

Oh actually I've got one that's funny as...

So, there's a saying (not sure how common it is) that "Jack Frost is out which basically means "it's cold outside".

I think one time, my Nana said something like, "be careful, Brenden - Jack Frost is out!"

I think she was telling me to wear a jumper but I spent ages 5-12 thinking Jack Frost was a serial killer that I should be really vigilant about. (Shit you not).
✌️just do what makes you happy ✌️

^Shared a similar belief that Jack Frost was some sort of evil killer.

The answer is M A G I C

---

Not mine, but my best friend once believed this, and she doesn't mind me sharing. Her grandma told her not to touch her bellybutton, as she could break it, and all her guts will fall out

She knows it's not true, but doesn't allow anyone near her bellybutton. Even when her cats walk on her, they're not allowed to touch it

sooo naturally during our last watergun fight at the beach, you can guess where I aimed...

My dad's had chronic fatigue syndrome since around the time I was born. I used to think it was "chronic for tea", rather than "fatigue", and I wondered why mum kept serving him this Chronic thing for dinner every night since it made him so sick...  ::)
