might be worth nothing that some courses don't count your first year results at all (eg. UoM veterinary science) or weight it lower than 2nd and 3rd year

My semester 2 of 1st year was awful (my first semester ever was great with a high WAM but it went downhill quickly) and now I'm starting to improve. I went from borderline failing everything this year to doing a LOT better than passing

In first sem, at most you have done 4 out of 24 subjects in your degree. You have 20 more chances to make it right and with hard work you can

2017   Semester 1   UNIB10002   Logic: Language and Information   2   92   H1   First Class Honours   12.500

This semester absolutely kicked me in the ass but I adored this subject. Really happy with this mark.

Anyone doing phys 1 adv get higher than they thought (based on WAM change)? I thought the exam was terrible but if my results don't change I will have done decently well on it :p wondering if they scaled it

Hey all,
Just got my results for sem 1 of biomed first year, ended up with a 79.5 average. Just wondering how this stacks up compared to others? Everyone else I know seems to be well in the 80s :-\

Well I passed everything which is a positive I guess. All scores around 65ish, hardly world beating but good to get first semester over and done with. Hopefully I'll improve upon this next semester.

This was exactly my average in my first sem of biomed. Don't stress. It's a good score and a very solid start to your uni career, be proud of yourself :)

The majority of people I know would love to have a 75+ WAM, don't let stuff on here skew your outlook on results. There's a reason a score as relatively low as 70 is a distinction, because uni is a shitload harder than high school. AN just attracts some ridiculously smart people.

ENGR10004    Engineering Systems Design 1   89   H1   First Class Honours
FNCE10002    Principles of Finance                   96   H1   First Class Honours
MAST10006    Calculus 2                                   90   H1   First Class Honours
PHYC10001    Physics 1: Advanced                  79   H2A Second Class Hons A

WAM: 88.5

Proud of my results but wish I had have gotten that extra 1% on physics to have all H1 (not even sure I passed the exam, they must have scaled the results)
Well done everyone on surviving this semester at uni (especially if it's your first!) :)

2017   Semester 1   ECON10004   Introductory Microeconomics      78   H2A   Second Class Hons A   12.500
2017   Semester 1   FNCE10002   Principles of Finance              82   H1   First Class Honours   12.500
2017   Semester 1   MAST10008   Accelerated Mathematics 1      64   P   Pass                           12.500
WAM: 76
Disappointed with all of them but lessons learnt I suppose, coasting and last minute studying most definitely does not work at uni especially for math lol.
