Just to all the JAFFYs disappointed with their first semester:
For me I approached that semester as an experiment kinda thing. I really didn't care what marks I was going to get. I just wanted to see what worked well and what didn't - and figure out what I needed to do in order to do well for the rest of my degree. Bc uni and school are both different, you gotta study much differently - especially time wise. So don't focus too much on your results, just see what you did right and what you did wrong.
And for motivational purposes - I have a friend who did poorly in both semesters of first year. He then geared it up and got DEANS award in second year. He just told me his results for first sem of third year and he destroyed it! So don't define yourself based on this semester only. Still got a long way to go. If you are going to apply for med, dent etc then first semester of first year is barely worth anything lol.
All the best guys!
