I don't know the intended meaning of these lyrics -- something about love? The lyrics are meaningful to me, however, as it holds a connection to my last relationship. My girlfriend-at-the-time enjoyed slowish dancing in private, so we'd put music on -- like this song -- and dance together to it. Given we eventually split, it makes the first line especially poignant.

My lyrics this week are very practical, given fresh rumours that Shakira has split from Gerard Piqué (largely bullshit, but can hope). They're a description of the kind of man she looks for. Translation:

Even though the dark [depression] sometimes gets better, it always comes back. The singer needs somebody to care for them and help them get better. Like a lot of people, I've been suffering from depression for quite a while, so I find the lyrics quite relevant.

It's been running round my head all week, reminding me of the need to try and understand people rather than jumping to conclusions.  Doesn't mean being a people-pleasing pushover (something I always struggle with), but still, I prefer a default position of loving first and judging later, rather than the other way round.
