Hungry? Too tired to cook some more two minute noodles? Look no further, as in this thread you will find restaurant recommendations from all over Australia!*

Feel free to share any nice food outlets you've found, from sit-in dining to food trucks! Just post where it is, a bit about it, and what dish you'd recommend!

(okay, let's be honest, mainly Sydney and Melbourne)

Melbourne

China Bar
'China Bar is actually good if you're a tight arse and like duck (only like 12 bucks for duck and rice).' - Vox Nihili

La Petite Creperie
'La Petite Creperie- Hardware Lane, Melbourne*. Went there with K888 and Heids once and I've been back multiple times since :P Definitely recommend the chocolate crepes <3' - Insanipi

Pastuso
'Pastuso in Melbourne is a bit of an experience. You can get alpaca there (actually yum)' - Vox Nihili

Chokolait
'Chokolait does a mean hot chocolate. Mean price too but it's basically liquid chocolate so it's v.nice' - Vox Nihili

Lindft Cafe
'Oh and the Lindt cafe in SouthGate deserves a special mention for their hot choc' - Insanipi

??? vox, pls, what's the name, there's a few when I tried Google
'THAT FRENCH BAGUETTE PLACE IN DEGRAVES STREET IS SO GOOD. The guy who runs it is 10/10 hilarious and the baguettes are to die for. ' - Vox Nihili

Bubbletea
'1. Coco (haven't seen one anywhere else but box hill but this bubble tea shop/company started in China so it's obvs good. Their shops in China make it better though).' - Lavar Big BBB Balls

Sydney

Charlie Lovett
'for an actual meal, i can recommend charlie lovett - great pizza, burgers, etc. they're located in hurstville, peakhurst and crows nest. i think other places will come to mind later, only desserts come to mind right now whoops' - Fantasticbeasts3

Canberra

Akiba
'Akiba in Canberra is really nice. Surprisingly good food!' - Vox Nihili

Global Bar and Cafe
'Global Café and Bar is also surprisingly good and cheap. ' - Vox Nihili
Mikebabz
'Mikebabz food truck at ANU Popup Village - I've had their HSPs 3 times already and they are pretty good! A small one is $10 but it's actually quite filling! They also come with cheese on theirs (some places I've been to don't), and the workers are super nice too! You can also choose between beef, chicken or mixed for the meat' - Strawberries

Patissez
' they have one in Canberra/near city and one in the south somewhere. They're known for their freakshakes:
but other than that they also are a nice cafe and stuff. A bit expensive, but their freakshakes are so good + quite a few diff flavours (I got a chocolate cookie flavour one last time iirc, which is 2nd of the right)! They also don't look that big when you buy it but it's actually so filling! It's $13.90 for the normal size I believe.
If you just go for a freakshake that's already enough :)' - Strawberries

Geelong

Bistrot Plume
'If you're Geelong folk, Bistrot Plume in Belmont is hands down the most underrated restaurant around. A bit exxy, but their food is the best I've had down here. ' - Vox Nihili

Casse-Croûte
'Another Geelong place: Casse-Croûte. It's just near market square and does a killer waffle/sandwich. They're also the single nicest people. I told them I was learning French (years ago) and they just gave me a shit load of French magazines. ' -- Vox Nihili

Williamstown
Siam Orchid
'Coconut rice. Enough side. It's so delicous you can just eat it by itself' - Calebark

Hoppers Crossing

Jai Ho
'The best Indian restaurant I've ever been to. My friend's parents took me there to celebrate finishing my Physics exam, and woo, that was the best way to celebrate. As long as you get the jeera rice, you'll have a good time. The curries look a bit on the small side, but they're so jam-packed they'll fill you up fast.' - Calebark

Brighton

Neo Thai
'Neo Thai is a nice place. In Brighton, VIC, close to the North Brighton train station, love their vegetables + tofu in peanut satay sauce (and their coconut rice is yum). Their other dishes are nice but nothing's been able to beat that combination for me :)' - Shadowxo

Prestige Delight

'Prestige Delight, also in Brighton. They have a good variety of nice indian food :D (also close to the station)' - Shadowxo

Burst
'Burst (also in Brighton) is amazing. They have delicious dairy-free and dairy-containing froyo, many different toppings to choose from, waffles (plain or choc chip) and you self serve (pay by weight). I adore my choc chip waffles with berry froyo, mango coulis, passionfruit coulis, lychee pearls, strawberries, nutella, oreos (yes I get a lot of toppings). Highly recommend :D' - Shadowxo

Glen Waverly
Yo My Goodness

'They sell frozen yoghurt at all their locations, plus burgers in Glen Waverley + Mornington.
Personally haven't tried their froyo, but their burgers are actually pretty good! So are their fries
I can't even remember what burgers I had tbh.
Is a bit pricey though, esp if you buy more than a burger, but very delicious :) ' - Strawberries

Mornington
Yo My Goodness

'They sell frozen yoghurt at all their locations, plus burgers in Glen Waverley + Mornington.
Personally haven't tried their froyo, but their burgers are actually pretty good! So are their fries
I can't even remember what burgers I had tbh.
Is a bit pricey though, esp if you buy more than a burger, but very delicious :) ' - Strawberries

Werribee

Chinar Kebabs
'A food van selling kebabs, chips, and HSP. You cannot find better chips than the ones they have here, I can tell you that much. You can get a HSP + drink for $15 which is a bit pricey, but very nice (if not downright unhealthy). Great customer service too -- as it's a van, the wait times they can a bit lengthy, so some free drinks or chips are quite common. ' - Calebark

Werribee South

Wyndham Cache
'A cafe on a road near Werribee Zoo. It's located at the edge of a farm, where they get all their ingredients. Everything tastes fresh and feels healthy. I'd recommend the pumpkin salad (fetta, cashews, dukkah, tomato, cucumber, red onion, salad greens, hummus, honey mustard aioli). The portion sizes are massive -- enough for two people if they're not big eaters.' - Calebark

Ocean Grove

Driftwood Cafe
'Another hipstery, fresh food place. Absolutely delicous -- never had a bad meal here. A bit pricey for a cafe, but I'd recommend the steak sandwich (scotch fillet, caramelised onion, Swiss cheese, cos, chimmichurri, aioli, ciabatta roll, side of chips). However, be warned: if you go in the summer, it'll be very crowded and very difficult to hold a conversation due to the volume of the place' - Calebark

Elsternwick

Pandamama
'Pandamama in Elsternwick has cheap af dumplings that taste amazing. (15 pan fried pork for less than 10 bucks, and they're a good size)' - Vox Nihili

Why do we have a section for Brunei???

Magnum Store
'Magnum store in Brunei. Went there the last day of my overseas holiday at the start of the year, and was quite legitimately, an amazing experience.

Imagine this: getting to choose your flavour of magnum icecream, the type of chocolate it gets dipped in, the type of chocolate drizzle, and the toppings to go with it (anything from sea salt to marshmallows, from crushed potato chips to crushed oreo, so many choices).
All that, for about 5 Brunei dollars (about 4.50 AUD - about the price of a normal Magnum from a servo here).
<3' - K888

I really like the Italian restaurant Panarottis. They do really great pizza-the 3 cheese, seafood and meatlovers are my favourite. I think they have a couple of stores around NSW but I go to the one at Macarthur Square (Campbelltown area).
Also love yogurt land-although I always end up spending way too much more then I expected.
Keen for some Sydney recommendations :)

You learn something new everyday. Thanks Calebark! :)

OH MY GOD HAVE YOU REALLY? I've been dying to talk to someone about this place :')
YES REALLY OMG

I also like Rice Workshop for their ramen (as seen in a thread a few days ago) ;D
their locations are:
- 238 Little Bourke St, Melbourne VIC 3000 (located on the corner on Tattersalls Lane) (ChinaTown)
- Melbourne Emporium, level 3 food court
- Chadstone
- Westfield Knox's food court
- Box Hill Central; near the Reject Shop
- Werribee Plaza
- Fountain Gate
- Westfield Geelong
- Northland SC; opposite the Reject Shop (do I see a pattern?)
- Eastland (near Maccas)
- Highpoint; food court on level 2
- Westfield Sydney (no idea where though; never been north of the border :P )

Oh and the Lindt cafe in SouthGate deserves a special mention for their hot choc ;)

every time i go to the state library, i go to lindt and grab a drink. had their hot chocolate for the first time yesterday - a bit pricey, but sooo good. can recommend the iced chocolate. oh, and their waffles, which are amazing. i've got a huge sweet tooth as well so for gelato, gelatissimo is great, but you have to do a search around to find which ones sell a bit cheaper because prices vary across stores.

for an actual meal, i can recommend charlie lovett - great pizza, burgers, etc. they're located in hurstville, peakhurst and crows nest. i think other places will come to mind later, only desserts come to mind right now whoops
