When do you wanna move out? Why?

after uni I suppose  but my parents are moving back to asia because they just couldn't stand the weather here so technically it's my parents who are moving out hahaha

Planning to move out January next year! Organizing renting a house with 3 of my best mates near Monash, so it shouldn't be overly expensive if we share the costs. None of us are getting money from our parents either, going solo!

My hopes are to be out of the home and living independently by the time I'm 20 which is only 18 months away at this point.

My Parents aren't in too much of a rush to get me out, but I personally want out and independence sooner than later as i kind of feel like I'm trapped here at home and unable to be my own person... That being said I still have the HSCs to sit so looking for somewhere to move out to is not on the priority list

I think so! We have been talking about it heaps, the only issue I can see is getting the rental approved, as 2 of us including myself will still only be 17 for half the year!

Sounds awesome! I got rent approved when I was a bit younger than yourself, and I can say that it is a pain in the ass. However, it's definitely possible! Some things to consider:

>It'll help a tonne if you all have jobs/job experience
>Some landlords are weird about leasing to four boys (assuming male bcos DREWballs ), so make sure you're that little bit more polite and whatnot
>If any of you don't have a job at the time of starting, ensure you're on Youth Allowance (which you'd likely be eligible for), so if they ask if you have a souce of income at the time, you can say 'ja'

3 of us work, and are all eligible for youth allowance! The one guy that doesn't work is legally blind, so he is on a disability pension so he can't work but money isn't an issue for him!

It would be awesome if you could help out with things such as:

• Budgeting for food
• The Types of people to rent with (numbers etc...)
• The different special monetary provisions that can/are available
• And how to go about getting them
• Potential Hazards and things that people could do to try to trip us up
