Hi all,
Next year I am going to be completing 3/4 bio and I just wanted to know how much study I should be doing over the upcoming Christmas break. And what should I study?

Thanks!!

I think studying over the summer holidays is a really good idea for your 3/4 subject. It's not necessary, so don't get stressed about it, just do how much you feel comfortable with. As for the work you should do, it's probably best to just start working through the unit 3 content using the textbook (although it contains an annoying amount of useless information). You could buy notes and practice questions from a company as well to get the hang of things and write some preliminary notes.

I don't think it's necessary to be honest. You can have a flip through your book, but I don't think there's a great need to understand much of the content before the year starts. It's a long year and you'll have plenty of opportunity to learn the stuff in class. You may as well enjoy your holidays and recharge before you start that year :)

Hey! So even though I didn't do bio, I think this sort of advice will apply to most subjects - a good idea can be to start just reading over the textbook, getting an idea in mind of what is to come, and the sort of concepts that you will be studying. Often a preliminary read over a topic helps with understanding it when you come to being taught it in class. Obviously, there is more you can do in terms of questions etc. if you are wanting to, but I wouldn't stress too much - make sure you have a break over the summer, and don't burn yourself out before you start - remember to strike a balance.
