on the forum homepage we could have a section like shown below where we can add our favourite boards/child boards. this way we don't have to search through the forum or have hundreds of bookmarks for our favourite boards.

I really like this! ;D

Brought this up ages ago: Seeing more than 10 users when you click on the up-votes :P

We can actually change this now!

Umm, a little survey I guess - Give this post a '+1' if you want to be able to see more than 10 users votes when you check the score of a post. If it gets more than +10, I'll up the cap!

Well just for one tip I've been searching through is the notes bit.
I realised that people have been posting notes with no posts and the people who are rating it 5 stars are also people with no posts (no ratings either)
I'm pretty sure that they're the same person and the notes would be dodgy. If there was a way you could rate notes from most respected person to least respected or something like that.
Obviously, it isn't necessary but it'll help people to find useful notes by respected and great people instead of new people who are not really trusted or endorsed if you know what I mean

a feature to post anonymously?

This has been raised previously in other threads and we have rejected this idea for a number of reasons, the main one being that the current anonymous feature we have completely eliminates the identity of the user. If they infringe on our forum rules, we cannot accurately identify who has posted that specific thread/post. We require the ability to attribute posts to specific people in order to keep the rubbish off the forum, which includes spam, advertisements and the like.

A specific example: A spammer on ATAR Notes uses the anonymous feature to spam rubbish across the forum, asking completely obvious questions which are aimed to provoke a response. A moderator cannot identify the user due to their use of the anonymous feature, therefore they are free to spam and clutter our forums.

I guess it could work if natmods/admins had the ability to view their identity (and everyone else could just see 'Anonymous').

I wonder why you would ask for this feature? ;)

Yeah it's understandable why you can't, but why would you need it in the first place?

Perhaps if you're somebody who intends on spamming / being a nuisance? I guess ;)

There are specific situations where I could see the practicality of an anonymous feature - such as posting an english essay where the author doesn't want their name attributed to it. But for 99.999% of situations, I don't see the need.

You can already click the little 'person' icon next to the arrows to get a list ;D

For reference, some browsers such as the latest version of Firefox won't show who downvotes/upvotes... it'll show just a list without the + or - next to each name. Depending on your browser and its settings, this could be the case too. See attached for example

I'm unable to see who upvotes my posts? Could it be a problem with google chrome?

I'm using Google Chrome and it works just fine. What version are you using to view AN?
VCE: Psych | Eng Lang | LOTE | Methods | Further | Chem

Current: working (sporadically on AN)

I’m not sure if this is even fixable, but I wish there was an efficient way to browse some of the question threads such as the “Vce chemistry question thread.”
There are some great questions and answers on there but just going through the Bazillion pages is a put off.
One solution I can think of is if each question could be automatically/manually indexed in the first post so we could have a nice list of hyperlinked questions we can just click on.

Feature to search for pages on long question threads, such as the methods question thread?
