You aren't able to "transfer" to dental surgery since it is a post graduated degree. That means you are required to completed your undergraduate degree before you move onto DDS. So you basically need any undergraduate degree and as prerequisite subjects for DDS you must also complete anatomy, biochemistry and physiology at second year level and also complete the GAMSAT to be eligible for the application process.

When applying for DDS you will be ranked by GPA along with GAMSAT performance.

Maybe transfer wasn't the right word. So basically, after I complete my double at Monash, I just apply for the postgraduate given I have an equal chance as everyone else (whom would be from Melbourne) in getting in? Providing I do the prereqs.

Well kinda a tentative yes. You need to apply before the end of your degree that is if you dont want a gap year. Also yes you have the same chance as anyone else from melbourne with the same grades/gamsat.
