Doing a major without prerequisite subject? Need Advice!

Hi guys ;D,

I am in second year science and considering doing neuroscience as my major. The thing is, I haven't done the one second year prerequisite subject PSYC20006 (Biological Psychology). I've done other subjects which had aspects of neuro (ANAT20003, PSYC10003) and recently became interested in this major.

So should I consider contacting the subject coordinator? I don't know where to go from here.

Thanks heaps!

I don't think that biological psychology is a prereq for neuroscience? Of the core subjects, only Principles requires that you've done at least two first year Biology subjects, which you should have done.
2013-15: BBiomed (Biochemistry and Molecular Biology), UniMelb
2016-20: MD, UniMelb
2019-20: MPH, UniMelb
2021-: GDipBiostat, USyd

I used the unimelb website and it says biological psychology is a core prerequisite (picture attached). I had just checked the subject handbook for the two core subjects and I found out that NEUR30002 and NEUR30003 don't have prerequisites. I am getting conflicting information but I assume you and the handbook are correct here.

It would be worth contacting whichever faculty put that together. It's clearly bullshit, so it should be taken down.
