What subject should I do as an extra?

Hey all,
I'm in year 11 this year and was given the opportunity to do two year 12 subjects. I've been managing them well and all is in line for me to (hopefully) get 40+ study scores on both, but I've encountered a problem as I will be moving schools next year, where it is not possible to do 4 subjects only in year 12. This means I will end up with a total of 7 3/4 subjects to my name by the time all is said and done. I'm not sure how many of these will even contribute to my ATAR either, so if someone could enlighten me that would be helpful.
This means that I have to choose one to pickup that I will not have done the 1/2 sequence for. I'm a maths/science kid, and have no idea what subject would complement methods, chemistry, literature and physics (having done biology and further this year). I've been recommended systems engineering but am wary of the folio requirements.
Does anybody have any recommendations? Any tips will be appreciated. Thanks

The subject that is your lowest of the 7 after scaling will not be used in your ATAR calculation (except Literature, which I assume is your one and only compulsory English strand subject that has to sit in your top 4).

Would you happen to know the full list of subjects you can choose from (as not every subject will be offered at every school)?

Hey Willorip!

Would definitely go and answer www's post before reading on.

What do you plan to do after VCE? That could impact your choice here. Some possible choices I would probably recommend for people in your situation are: Specialist (although one math will not be counted), Health and Human Development (HHD), a LOTE language (to balance things out) or Environmental Science. It also depends on how much time and effort you'd like to invest in your seventh subject.
VCE: Psych | Eng Lang | LOTE | Methods | Further | Chem
Uni: Bachelor of Science (Hons) - genetics
Current: working (sporadically on AN)

i'm totally unqualified to give advice on this, but i did bio last year and picked up hhd this year and they work really well together tbh. there's definitely things to memorise (so it's not a bludge in terms of content – nothing is complicated, but you need to know it. although i've heard they're going to be heaps less strict with this is the 2018 study design which is pretty good!), but the majority of the marks are in the application questions and those are mostly logical, so it's kind of like bio in that once you learn how to answer the question, it's not super hard to actually do. there are graphs in health too, which a lot of people seem to find kind of hard, i guess having not done them much before? haha. plus genetics wanders into unit 3 a few times, which is nice. but again, depends on what you're looking for in your extra subject (:
SUBJECTS |  English [47], Literature [46], Extension History @LTU [4.5]

ATAR (2017) | 95.95

This pastebin link has all of the subjects offered:

It's good to know that the 7th subject will not count at all, it takes the pressure off a little bit. The teacher suggested specialist maths as the whole engineering area is of interest to me, and many kids find it easier than methods. Is it easy enough to pick up over the holidays, and would it take away from my other subjects if I did it?

The LOTE they offer is Japanese which is quite far out from my year 10 French. Lots of people have suggested Health, but I was even considering doing University biology as it would give me a headstart instead of just having an extra subject that will not really contribute to prerequisite requirements
