yes, I had that issue, but I've figured out a way to get around the limit, just clear your cookies and it'll think you haven't downloaded anything at all ... I used that to download big pieces like concertos lol

Yay, after much battling with much mundane and redundant homework I have managed to play fully through Ballade No.1 with only a few technical hitches and little emotional depth. Now I'm going to try Liszt's Rhapsody No.6. I really like the B minor - B flat major (Supertonic minor to Tonic Major, better in second inversion) transitions near the ending, they sound sublime. Does anyone know what they are called or how they are used in theory?

By the Way, if anyone is looking for music by classical composers, check out

www.sheetmusicarchive.net

I worship that site. Daily.
not really, supertonic minor would be C minor.

but yeah, that's always a beautiful little chord progression.

I just got it off sheet music fox, it's teh whole score, not just the piano which is good if I'm not intending to try learn it as yet... AND it turns out the 4 cd set of vladimir horowitz I had bought last weekend has his recording of the concerto. I'm listening to it now :)

I've got to listen to it a bit more BUT it's true, that concerto deserves a <3

And funnily enough Rach3 is straight after it. I'm amazed at what this $4.99 collection of cds has to offer (really bad sound quality though)

actually i retract that statement. rachmaninov = god. I have a recording of rachmaninov himself playing rach 2. shit sound quality and the orchestra sounds funny ... but brilliant music

yay for liking classical music, its always so cheap cos no-one buys it :D

not henle... my teacher always wants me to get henle but it's so expensive...

When I was in China last year i got Chopin's complete piano works in 2 volumes. I can't remember how much it cost but whatever it was it cost 1/6 of the yuan price. I think it's as good as henle plus it seems to have more fingerings.

Can anyone suggest a Scarlatti sonata that I should play? I'm trying to choose out of the 555 and I have found a few that might be worth learning, but I'm still undecided

hardest piece ever: Brahms Paganini Variations. The only person who I've seen play this well is Elena Ulyanova. She also played Liszt Tarantella. OMG she is so good -.-
