Do you ever get such *fierce* admiration for a fellow human being that it's almost painful?

Discuss.

I admire things people have done fiercely -- particular people that persevered through tough situations. You got over depression? Fuck yeah. Became successful after being kicked out of home? Fuck yeah. Survived abusive parents? Fuck yeah. I have an even greater admiration if it's something can relate to, as it's like something I can aspire to do and look up to.

I admire these things, and the parts of those people that make these actions possible. But I don't think I ever admire someone as a whole that extent -- perhaps it's impossible for someone to be so wholly admirable. Or perhaps it's just me.

*sigh*
more often than i'd like to admit
sometimes its legit reasons like the person actually has amazing qualities but other times its totally random and stupid
but tbh i almost always end up laughing at myself for how foolish i was lmao

Alllllllll the time.
Like, I definitely admire the things some people have done. Like Caleb said. But I don't admire everything about most people. Which is definitely human, because, y'know, we're all human.

But, there's also just genuinely amazing people - and to be honest, probably only people I've discovered this year (I think, as I start to better appreciate the amazing qualities people possess and realise how lucky I am to have good friends) - who make my heart hurt from how much I just admire them as a human being. Because like, really could not fault them at all for anything. Yeah. Warm fuzzy feelings. Incredibly lucky to know such amazing people, even though the amount that I admire them is physically painful haha.

I think that much admiration for someone is borderline unhealthy and somewhat odd.

Yes, I will acknowledge someone's past / be amazed at their struggles.

I wouldn't physically "feel" pain or hurt.

I admire these things, and the parts of those people that make these actions possible. But I don't think I ever admire someone as a whole that extent -- perhaps it's impossible for someone to be so wholly admirable. Or perhaps it's just me.
Not just you , I share the same thoughts regarding admiration too, ^^

Just think about it for one second.  Whenever they feel pain, you feel pain. Whenever they feel happiness, you do too. When they experience extreme hardship, you sorta feel that  too.

In an essence, some distance is needed as a for of let's just say.. protection?

This isn't how I see admiration. How do you define it?

Good question.

I guess I see fierce admiration, almost as an extension of admiration, but with a lot more empathy?

Man, I feel this to my core.  I fiercely admire a number of people who are just downright good to the bones (they're thoroughly flawed, too, but aren't we all haha).  Physically, my amount of love and respect for them often feels like a tight, painful, exploding, clenching fire in my chest.

E6P: it's not obsessive love that assumes they're perfect or gets jealous (actually, nah, I do get jealous haha, have to work on that).  Feeling love that strongly is quite natural and wonderful, I feel.

Though of course we need to pay attention to our boundaries, plus avoid obsessiveness and putting people on pedestals.

Today strengthened this in my mind even further.

There are certain people who, if I tried to describe them, I'd simply have to shake my head and say, "they're just fucking amazing."

Because like, they're just fucking amazing.
