Hey guys! For the dotpoint which requires us to learn about viruses, bacteria, fungi, prions etc, do we need to know how to draw and label all of them? Or do we just learn about their structures, sizes?

I think we just need to know structures and sizes, what directive term does the syllabus give, that should give some indication as to the level we need to understand them
HSC 2017: Advanced English [85] General Maths [92] Biology [96] Geography [92] Drama [86]

2018: Bachelor of Arts and Advanced Studies at University of Sydney

-- need a tutor for any of the subjects listed above?? I reckon I'm the girl! Just message me on ATAR notes or here--

Hey thank you! The dotpoint says to distinguish between the pathogens and give an example. That doesn't really sound like it requires us to know how to draw and label

You 100% need to identify what they look like, (its a way to distinguish between them!)

With the sizes, I'm not too sure you'd need to know exact sizes (But that would really show your understanding!) but you do need to know the order of size (ie prions smallest, macroparasite largest) and you need to know which ones you are able/unable to see under a microscope!

Ah okay right thank you! Do you think I'll need to know how to draw them?

I really really really doubt it, but if they DID, it'll most likely be a prion or a virus.

You'd definitely need to know its relative sizes. It'd be wise to know which are cellular, and which are non-cellular as small details like this can really enhance your understanding on the pathogens.

Anything bigger than a bacterium.

From what i know some can be seen with a light microscope however some are too small and not enough detail can be seen.

I think most people have hit the nail on the hammer. Just following it from what i've seen these are generally easier question and normally you just want to have enough features known where u can differentiate each with all the others. (e.g tell a bacteria from a prion/virus/macroparasite/protozoa/fungi) However If i was you and since you only have half a day left, i would try and go over the questions that are more likely to come up for the longer and harder parts of the exam, for example about scientists and their impact and technologies and their impact.
These ideas come under the outcomes and their are more, which alot of students dont actually know about and it is where bostes like to get the juicy stuff from.
