On Monday night, I forgot to set an alarm for quite possibly the first time ever. I usually wake up at 6.30am, but had been sleeping later the previous days due to the long weekend.

Without an alarm, I woke up at 6.28am.

I've heard similar things happen to a lot of people. Could somebody tell me if this is a thing, or just confirmation bias? Like, can you almost tell yourself what time you want or need to wake up?

Exact same thing happens with me! :o

Whenever I need to wake up earlier, I just mentally tell myself the night before "I'm going to wake up at X am" and sure enough I'm up at around then or if not earlier. No alarm clock needed (but I always set one just in case) and it works 100% of the time provided that I'm not deathly sleep-deprived. Maybe with your case, though, it's just your body clock doing its thing? Your body is taking in certain environmental cues that are present at around that time, and they're telling you to get up. Or maybe, it's just your brain knowing that it's back to a normal schedule so it shifts your sleep-cycle back back accordingly (where you then wake up at the normal time of ~6.30am)?

Really interested to know the science behind this (if there's any and it's not just coincidence or something) if someone knows it.

When I was younger I used to be able to decide what time I would wake up, regardless of what time I'd been waking up previous days. Normally I'll wake up a couple of minutes before my alarm goes off, but at the moment I've screwed up my sleeping times so bad it takes about 10 alarms to wake me up haha

The knowledge doesn't come from the most pleasant circumstances (I got mine checked today so that I can be referred to the radiology for screening), but doctors use clocks to describe the positions of lumps/tumors on a breast.  Eg. If you have one on the top left, they would describe the position at 2 o'clock.

I also knew this from sitting in on my mum's appointments when I was little! :)

I absolutely cannot stand the sound of polystyrene, a newspaper being unwrapped from plastic, running fingers down blown-up balloons etc.

Writing this literally gave me goosebumps.

Why is this the case?

The rainbow rose is a rose that has artificially colored petals. The method exploits the rose's natural processes by which water is drawn up the stem. The stems are splitting and dipping each part in a different colored water, the colors are drawn into the petals resulting in a multicoloured rose.

How do you make the colour white?

Also, has anyone ever googled this?

White light is made by combining all of the visible wavelengths, and so something white reflects the visible wavelengths while something black absorbs them

(Slightly simplified,  feel free to ask clarification)

Yeah, that's what I thought. I was just arguing against someone yesterday who wanted to know why black couldn't be white. (And Vice versa)
I think I lost him when I referenced the defractionary pattern produced by black-body radiation through two slits... :)
