I got 10.98
It asked for the minutes to two decimal places, so it can't be 11 minutes.
Me too. Phew. Only lost one mark so far!

hey what was the annual flat rate depreciation percentage looking for? i got 4.5% but how can there be one rate when its decreasing by a greater percentage every year?

The Flat rate of depreciation is a percentage of the initial value, so 4.5% I believe is correct.

I only did An+1=1.015An because the question said the rate was 1.5% per month!  :-\

That's what i did as well

Im not quite sure how it could be 708, if you solve it in the cas for log10(y)=-14.4+0.00854*2020 it comes out to 709.251 which is 709 to the nearest hectare?

anyone know if we needed to find both sides of the lid or just one?

I just found one; it was the first question in geometry so I wasn't expecting to have to read into it that much. Plus if you found both sides you're kinda treating it as a 3D object so with that logic wouldn't you need to find the areas of the sides as well? They didn't give us the thickness of the lid so we wouldn't have been able to do that anyway! I feel like if they wanted both they probably would have specified that we had to find the inside and outside but then again that's just me SERIOUSLY hoping that the answer I gave was right, they did use the phrase "surface area of the lid" too so they may have been implying both sides.....it could be either tbh, VCAA does what they want hahahaha

the question specified both the lid and base, it said that in brackets

10^2.85 is 707.9457843841

I think what is creating the confusion is the following:

If you use the exact values provided on the exam paper e.g. 2.85, then 10^2.85 = 707.95 ~ 708.
But if you do it off the regression equation: -14.4 + 0.00854 * 2020 = 2.8508 and then 10^2.8508 = 709.25 ~ 709.
Since the answer is provided in the question, I think 708 is the better answer. Or am I wrong?

Nah it was 708 because you solve log10(x)=2.85 and you get x=707.945... which round to 708 hectares to the nearest hectare.

For that matrices question, 25% or 20%?? I initially wrote 25% and then redid it and got 20% :/
