Can the amount of Q's change?

Yes. So too can the mark allocation.

Interestingly, the instructions for the Language Analysis section say "read the opinion piece..". While it says the number of questions and mark allocations may change, there is nothing about the wording varying. Does this mean they just revealed there would only be 1 text in the language analysis?

Also, orange, silver and blue script books for English. Isn't that exciting?!?!

Damn, 5 questions each for sections 1 and 2 of EL exam! That is so low. Hopefully a few of the questions have multiple parts.

Ever since the new syllabus there is only one piece, when they used to have two you only had to write on one anyway, the other was for background information

Good point. There could be only 1 piece. The only way to confirm this is to look at previous years exams which had 2 articles and compare there covers for that year. Are previous years availible?

2008 was the start of the new study design. Before then the language to persuade part of the exam was a bit different.
2008 only had 1 article
Previous years simply state "read all the material carefully".

I hope it's just 1 piece because that'll be a massive relief!

ONE PIECE FTW!!!!! I hope so! Makes it so much easier =(

I hate comparing and contrasting articles, seeing that they tend to be two different opinions, and 2 completely different writers, it's illogical how we compare/contrast, especially since they tend to use different techniques.!

EDIT/afterthought: I am now having doubts about their being ONE opinion piece/article. Because why would the examiners want to TELL you how many there is? It then allows you to focus on writing a single language analysis, and not a comparative at home. The VCAA is shrouded in secrecy lol, I don't think they would give you hints like that. I guess wait and see at revision lectures?

And just one question, um, since there is an image, you don't do a comparative on that do you? Just analyse it as PART of the 1st article? Just double checking.

What is the script book exactly? Is it just normal lined paper (7-8mm stuff) or like what they give you in the GAT?
When I get sad, I stop being sad, and be AWESOME instead. True story.
