House of Cards: Yes, I know about the scandal right now. But the show is still great regardless of what you think of Spacey
The Cosby Show: Same as above. I've watched this whole series like 2 times now, but haven't gone to watch it a 3rd time due to reading taking over my life XD
Poirot: The TV show is great with David Suchet, I love his portrayal as the little Belgian detective
Still salty about the Orient express episode though, that train director was IMO so poorly played. It ruined it and I can't see anyone doing a the novel justice. That new movie. Ugh. Don't get me started on that. Gintama: If your into pop-culture and you don't mind reading subtitles. I would highly recommend you watch this, it hits the "greatest" tag at ~100 episodes and beyond. That is when the show really nails its comedic timing (Some of those are zingers like are just perfect) and the characters are phenomenal as well. I don't think you should skip parts of it and just watch the whole thing because you just appreciate the show a hell lot more. I'm looking forward to the final arc, but so far enjoying the Slip arc
.
Mr Robot: If your like me and wanting hacking shows done well. This is the show for you. I would always shows this to people when they scoff at the things that can happen with poor IT security measures like being socially engineered (The season 1's episode dedicated to that is a masterclass at it and I love how they used actual methods professionals would use)
Psych: Just watch it. The movie is coming out soon after years of hinting at it. But seriously just watch it, it's great. It was a hit back when it come out. I still recall watching it on Channel 10 in ~2005-06 and also Monk.
Community: #sixseasonsandamovie, I will admit the season 4 really isn't great but I would stick with it. As I feel the series as whole is excellent and I love all the pop culture references and the characters as well. "Troy and Abed in the morning"
Cowboy Bebop: A anime mixed with western style. A show about bounty hunters, love, gangs and overall chill vibes. "Gotta carry that weight"
Psycho Pass Season 1: Season 2 is a write-off, don't watch it, it doesn't add to this show at all and just plain terrible. I would just watch the okayish movie instead. This was the show that got me into a phase of "looking up dark things like books, shows, music, etc". This show will make you question the reliance of technology, but also the way of how justice can be enforced in the world. What do you do with a criminal who can't be tried by the justice system? => Is the best way to describe this show.
Naruto: Yes. I'm actually listing this down here. I know this show has many faults. I too agree with them all. But you have to admit when they nail the fighting scenes, they nail it well. If you can't stand the filler and all that dialogue or just read the manga already. I would just skip and watch the Chunin Exam arc. I have to this day never found a tournament arc done as well as Naruto has
One could make an argument for Boku no Hero Academia though. But its impact isn't as big as when Naruto released their tournament arc Rock Lee vs Gaara never ceased to send chills down my spine on the epicness of it. The fluid animation and the excellent music choice really does this fight justice.
Neon Genesis Evangelion: If you mention anime you can't not mention this show. A show that will fuck you up. A show that has never not caused a huge uproar and debate. If you haven't seen this show I recommend you do. I would watch End of Evangelion as well. I mean you have heard the opening song by now so you may as well watch this show. Bring a friend along for the adventure as well. Your life will never be the same again after watching this show.
This is my mix of recommendations filled with a few recent hit shows, a guilty pleasures and shows that were overlooked.
