I ran out of time, but didn’t really find it tough. It didn’t really ask anything about the problem solving methodology, and focussed a lot on design principles... if you didn’t know them you would be stuffed!

Yeah, i knew the design principles and critereon, but did you find the MCs hard and long?
Curious, what are you ranked in your class, how many are in your class and what study did you do for Informatics?

I’m ranked #1 in my class, there are only 8 in the class though. sac scores are all 100% except last one 93% I’m pretty sure....

I studied a fair bit, the multiple choice was definitely more difficult than previous exams, but I was able to nail it down to at least two on the more difficulf questions. the higher difficulty was expected because the 2016 exam was a bit too easy.

What are you ranked? Same questions back at ya. I feel like my efforts went to waste because of not answering last 3 questions :(

Hope to see you in the above 40 list.
In the multiple choice questions there was a question regarding the IM strategies and you had to choose which ones fit. Did you choose option 1,3,5 or 3,4,5
bw2018

I don’t remember exactly, because I don’t recall the options lol. I did find that question as one of the harder ones though.

Mark kelly usually posts suggested responses on his forum, so wait for them I guess?

Hope to see you on the list, although I probably won’t be on it!

Anyone got a copy of the exam?

The insert for the case study is probably the best we're going to get until Mark Kelly puts up a skeleton for the post mortem (or the official VCAA one). Would love to see the whole exam if anyone can get their hands on it!

Hey aaron,
estimate my study score
rank 2nd
exam: 60-70/100

I'm not a great estimator of study scores, but I can tell you that 60-70/100 puts you at upper B to middle A according to the 2016 exam distribution.

You can’t determine the study score because of it being a more difficult exam the scaling could change drastically.

I found this years exam to be pretty easy. There were no referencing questions ( a big plus for me because they annoy the hell out of me ) and nearly all the questions only required a basic understanding of the study design. There were no extremely specific questions like what is seen in some of the trials. I guess I was a little stressed throughout the duration of the exam as it was quite long. Overall though I managed to answer all the questions quite confidently. Hoping for a 40+  :)
