Drop methods for busman?

I am currently doing Economics, Accounting, Maths Methods, Further Maths and English. I got 60% for both my maths methods exam for semester 2 this year, do you think it is wise if I drop maths methods and take up busman, as I am doing commerce in uni.

Mod edit: Moved and changed title to make more relevant to question.

I'm probably not the best person to be giving advice but Methods is a prereq for courses like Med and Engineering so you would sort of be locking  yourself into commerce. So if commerce is definitely what you want to do its probably a fairly reasonable decision.
Btw I'm still in VCE so pay more attention to others advice  :P

If you're doing Conmerce, I think UoM has Methods as a prerequisite, and I think many subjects at most unis could require decent mathematical ability, depending on the area of study of course. In all honesty, Methods will probably be more beneficial to you in terms of the "future" than Business Management will be. If it were me in your position, I'd take Methods and maybe watch some Khan Academy videos for fun over summer to put yourself in a good position to improve your scores in 2018.

Besides, a 30 in Methods scales to what? Close to 40? You'd need a 40 raw in BusMan to get the same scaled score... so it's not like you'll "save" yourself any work by swapping the subjects, either.

Thanks Brenden for your advice. But if my current average this year was to be at about 69%, wouldn't my average next year be much lower?

Though Busman might be easy and competitive, it is much easier to score higher in SACS, what do you guys think about that?

Definitely not much lower. It could be much higher depending on the effort you put in! I've heard people say they found Year 12 Methods easier than Year 11 because it's a smaller jump to make than that if Year 10 to Year 11.

I agree it is probably easier to score better in BusMan SACs but that won't make a difference to your end study score, because it's easier for everyone and it scales down in the end.

I agree with the above posts.

Methods is definitely more useful than busman and it is or at least feels much easier in year 12 than year 11 - probably because a lot of the content is repeated. Since it is a prerequisite for many uni courses, I would take it just for the sake of keeping your options open. Who knows, you may have a last minute change of heart in terms of what courses you want to do.

Like brenden said, even if you get a 30 in methods, the scaling compensates. Also, if you feel like you're struggling in methods than maybe it would best to look into a tutor or even some more help from your teachers???

The only reason I think you should do busman over methods in this case is if you're 100% sure you want to do commerce (and I mean like you're really sure) AND also if you're doing it as a strategic choice i.e. you plan on it being a top 4 subject, not just a filler subject. Usually I would say do subjects that you're most passionate about, but considering how helpful methods is I think it would be wise to do it.
