Honestly feel sorry for the poor souls who put their heart and soul into the HSC but didn't get the ATAR which they deserved. I hope everyone is extremely proud of what they achieved and all the best for the future!

Band 6 in Business Studies, and band 5 in every other subject (biology, advance english, math, modern, SOR2). I mark off from a band 6 in advance and modern history!

92.05.

I honestly couldn't be happier with my results. For the last year, I've had a giant note on my wall which reminded me that my goal was a 92 atar, so it was fantastic to achieve that.

I couldn't possibly have achieved this if it wasn't for all the support from Atarnotes, whether through the online forum, the lectures, or the books. So a huge thank you to all the staff!

Congratulations to everyone on your results!

Hey Guys!! :D

For those who did PDHPE, does anyone know what the raw marks were for a Band 6 this year and if so where we can find it?

Also, any ideas if the options Equity and Health & Sport and Physical Activity in Australian Society had bad option scaling in the HSC?

Ouch. So close.

Still got AAA yeah?

Yep thankfully

Also to the person saying their language subject got scaled down by like 20 and not to trust their teacher, it basically means your cohort did badly in the hsc exam. The marks teachers submit are irrelevant, only the gap between marks and the ranks.

Offering tutoring for Biology, Maths, Maths Ext 1, and Maths Ext 2.
Send me a message if interested!

Language subjects such as Chinese tend to scale very poorly. Explains why languages are in "terminal decline" in Australia.

Sidenote: I wish you all the best in uni, hopefully Chinese will be useful to you in the future !

That decimal is frustrating, I know! But the important thing is that you're set up for the next step now, with your course :)

I didn't do my HSC in 2017, I complete it in 2018, but I go to a public school in the country. From my school in the cohort above mine, NOBODY got a B6/E4 in anything. Last year there was only 1 student who got a top band (E4 in ext 1 maths).

The private school across the road had 20 honour role kids and even a state rank and the other 2 schools in our surrounding areas had 10 and 11 honour role students respectively. My school was the only one in our town and surrounding areas to not even get 1 student.

Should I be worried? What do I do with this information?

hey!

i don't think you should be worried, because your cohort could do really well - you never know. what you can do is encourage your classmates to study, help them out, because together you're a lot stronger. don't let the results of other schools or the year above get you down; use it as motivation to work even harder!

hope this helps + happy new year :-)
