From time to time I feel as if I am excited and slightly eager, but sometimes nervous and scared...

I feel excited cause I have waited for this moment for years (during this time I think I have done really well on the exams), and scared cause I am not exactly sure if I'll manage to get a competitive ATAR for biomedicine (I am not sure if I did "well enough").

But overall I actually can't wait for the 15th  ;D

Good luck. I hope that you can get into biomed, and if not, I hope that you will find an alternate pathway that will make you happy in life. But whatever marks you get, it is the person you are that really matters. Good luck!

This sounds really similar to what I felt. How are you using your time? :)

Strangely enough, I'm not all that fazed by ATAR release day. This is a stark contrast from last year, though. Last year I was excessively anxious about my study scores. But I think this had more to do with the fact that I had to confront teachers and students again. This year I can just escape  ;)

All I hope is that my ATAR somehow reflects my efforts. After completing the exams I didn't feel like this at all.

Time seems to have unfortunately slowed down. For the last few weeks I was only contemplating how much time I had to wait every few days but now I’m just grinding through the hours. I know the ATAR is disappointing for most people and that I probably did worse than I’m expecting, but I just really want the suspense and uncertainty to be over.

The ATAR requirement for biomed seems to be going down (at Melbourne at least) so it’s probably going to be <96 this year. Anyway you’ll probably get 99+ so even if you screw up I’m sure you’ll make the cut off :)

Hey, why do you assume that Melbourne biomed's cut-off will drop below 96?

Thanks :)

My second preference is science anyways, which has a ATAR cut-off of only 85.

I have basically been watching TV, catching up with friends (all of us meet quite frequently), and writing stuff.

I hope so! However, even if the atar requirement is low, the clearly-in might rise

TBH I just wanna see my ATAR and move on in life. Slight tinges of nervousness etc. but this is due to the amount of work I put in compounding to this moment so hopefully I get an ATAR score that reflects this.

Pretty much how I feel too. Just want it to come and go. It would be nice if the score reflected the work I put in, and if I could get anywhere close to where I was aiming I'd be content, considering how things didn't run according to plan during my exams!

Well it seems to be on a downward spiral. It’s not so long ago that biomed at Melbourne was a 99+ course. I guess people are realising it’s not a free ticket to med and that there are other courses where it is easier to get a high GPA. Also Melbourne are getting greedier and increasing the intake. I’m not entirely sure it will drop below 96 but I’d be surprised if the cut off actually increased.
